OEL is often our worst dman each game. Him paired with chaos giraffe is one hell of a tank commander duo! I'm officially team tank. This team needs to be blown up and we need to increase our chances of landing Bedard.

NHL should just rig it for the Canucks. Think of the storylines they can use. Kid drafted by the team he grew up watching...next Canadian kid...faces off against McDavid throughout the years....too bad they're capped to the max. haha

With this front office having so much experience from the Penguins and building their success around Sidney Crosby, I am absolutely shocked that they're not throwing everything including the kitchen sink to land Bedard and build around that for the next decade.

This mgmt seems to want to replicate the Penguins success, Rutherford brought in Allvin and there are stories (take it with a grain of salt) that Rutherford is looking at Tocchet (assistant to Sullivan) to replace Boudreau ... sooner or later. I don't know, while experience of success is good, replicating something almost always doesn't work. Mgmt team has to innovate and build on previous experience instead of rinse and repeat.

the irony in all of this is that their unwillingness to commit to a rebuild is born from the idea that they want to keep the on-ice product watchable and retain revenue yet they've actually created a product hardly anyone wants to watch anymore lol.

I'm no longer willing to give new management benefit of the doubt that this team's problems are due to previous management's decisions. while this is still largely true, it isn't the entirety of what's going on right now.

I often wonder how the female execs and VP has given shape to the direction of this team. It was promoted as innovative and forward thinking but I'm not seeing much innovation and forward thinking here. With J.T. Miller signing ... some of the same old mistakes of cap hell.

I'm hoping new management is doing the "let's see what you guys can accomplish this season and if it's not up to par we're rebuilding".

Lots of people saying "Sat OEL and same result, 5 goals"... a lot more people should be saying "You scratched your highest paid player and it didn't matter" which is far more concerning.

If Canucks were sold and moved, and Vancouver comes back as an expansion team, things would probably turn around a lot quicker than trying to get out of the current mess.

I don't think gender has anything to do with it. Like most industries, you literally get groomed to conform to how things are run as you move up the ranks. I want employees to bring fresh ideas and approaches. But I also want them to conform to our culture and not shake the boat too much. And sometimes, those ideals are mutually exclusive lol.

^ it's OK, sometimes Skinnydawg gets his panties all wrung up. I think he's just being petty and wants to get even from the NFL thread cuz mikemhg called him out for being inconsistent and I agreed with mike. When Skinnydawg is like that I just ignore him. He eventually calms down if his Ravens get on a bit of a winning streak.
