I remember the days I’d be sick and I’d go do a 2 hour ball hockey run and basically cure myself, good as new!… I tried that at 45 and it made things like 2x worse and left me horizontal for 2-3 days after

Just got a bad cold, which I likely caught from the office (thank you, back-to-office mandate.) I'll be missing my final track event of the year. :okay: (But I also have an assignment due on Sunday.) :D

Badhobz 10-15-2025 07:19 AM

yikes, everyone is getting sick. stay away from me plague carriers! i got a chihuahua girl to take care of.

spoon.ek9 10-15-2025 07:31 AM

I'm somewhat thankful I got sick while on vacation. Should give me some natural immunity for this season. Also Flu and Covid shots are starting now so even more immunity! Still waiting for the gub'mint to control my organs via 5G from previous injections. Or have they moved onto 6G technology by now? :crazy2:

bcrdukes 10-15-2025 07:33 AM

6G Technology is already a development in progress! :D

Question: Since you work in health care, do you take flu shots? I traditionally never did but leaning towards taking it. Recovery isn't anywhere near the same as it was in my 20s. :okay:

unit 10-15-2025 07:35 AM

i was kinda hoping i got covid for the first time so i could post my results here and have jason rage behind his keyboard wishing he could respond

bcrdukes 10-15-2025 07:49 AM

I would not want to wish anyone with COVID. It is awful.

Badhobz 10-15-2025 07:49 AM

i think he's moved on to greener pastures. Moving out to the sticks, he's probably created a commune of like-minded weirdos who're now running around naked in the woods rolling in feces trying to gather "good bacterial flora"

noclue 10-15-2025 08:54 AM

I caught a bad cold coming back from greece, combined with jetlag was fucking awful. Wear your masks folks, you're not being muzzled (jason00s2000)

Yeah I get it every year! Any immunity is welcome imo. Even if it happens to be the wrong strain (usually based on two most prominent strains in Aus), it's still better than nothing. Haven't had cold/flu symptoms in basically forever despite high potential to come across it at work. Covid is another animal though. It was rough going through that, even as a healthy person.

bcrdukes 10-15-2025 09:26 AM

Thanks for that.

I work in an open office space the size of your average technology campus and there are all sorts of people who...culturally.....do not practice hygiene, including washing hands, wearing masks, coming in to work sick, and cleaning up after themselves. I never once got sick in other offices. Just this one I currently work at.

people who don't wash their hands and practice basic hygiene need to live on their own planet...

unfortunately, even in healthcare it isn't 100% across the board. like you mentioned, people don't clean up after themselves so shared spaces are often filthy. our sink in the break room is often cluttered with dirty dishes that sit there for 1+ weeks. just recently a dirty glass lunch container was left on top of our microwave for about 2 weeks. it started getting moldy. these are supposed to be grown ass adults i work with

Badhobz 10-15-2025 09:51 AM

Slip them all fent

spoon.ek9 10-15-2025 03:32 PM

Makes me think of a Futurama shirt I saw on Temu. It's a pic of Bender that reads: Save the planet, Kill all humans!

People that leave shit for others to clean up in common work areas - I wonder what their homes look like...

spoon.ek9 10-15-2025 04:06 PM

It's hard to tell sometimes. Your first assumption is that their place must be a total dump. However, you might find that they are neat and tidy at home and simply exhibit these selfish tendencies at work where they can get away with it. Either way, it's annoying as hell to deal with and I would think less of that person if I saw them in the act.

Please help me determine the investment decision of Lombard Manufacturing on whether they should sell their existing widget grinder or buy a new one?
