Guy buys a new GT3RS plus a manthey racing kit that costs 170K. Sells/flips the car before the kit arrives. I wonder if he had to buy the kit to get an allocation.

"My lost is your gain"

Chinese for sure.

Saw a black 992 3RS with MR kit in Richmond the other day. Had to do a double take when I saw the prominent MR logo on the huge wing. Extra downforce for zooming down Granville.

How do you pronounce manthey?

The mike tyson way or is it literally man they?

EvoFire 09-19-2025 03:45 PM

Man tai racing

Badhobz 09-19-2025 05:43 PM

It’s pronounced ugly-piece-of-shit … can’t imagine you can make that hideous beetle uglier but these clowns have done it.

68style 09-19-2025 06:54 PM

Does v-postal code have a mantai wang?

Why is it trendy to butcher beetles with hideous and expensive body kits? You got this manthey crap and the japanese guy that chops up 993 beetles

Manthey is an official Porsche partner. You can buy there parts at Porsche dealerships.

This kit is part of the Porsche Tequipment Performance Parts, so approval for road use and warranty coverage remain unaffected. The new Manthey Performance Kit heightens the exclusivity and track capabilities of your Porsche.

The Manthey stuff is actually functional, unlike the RWC shit where he free hands a fender.

trollface 09-20-2025 06:10 AM

It’s actually not that crazy. Look up how much a set of carbon wheels on the mustang darkhorse costs.

It’s 10k usd. The kids at Aberdeen have 2500 dollar battle aero wings and 4k TE37 on their frs 12k frs.

MT is legit race aero.

Badhobz 09-20-2025 06:36 AM

Yeah so what ? The stock wheels on my stupid ratrolla from the factory is like 3k per wheel. Doesn’t make it right or “worth it”

Plus it still looks like shit. Legit aero my ass, like you need aero for around here ? The stock gt3RS already has huge aero, you show me where this kit improves lap times vs stock. Especially since you’re paying for basically another beetle worth of money to make it somehow worse.

It can technically function, but it's not going to do anything at road speeds and the people buying these things aren't taking them to a track.

trollface 09-20-2025 11:21 AM

I mean, the same can be said for any mod...

Who needs a wing, who needs light wheels, who needs BBK, who needs a splitter, who needs brakes with more "bite"? How many ppl on this forum are running laps in VIMC?

4k in wheel on a 15k car is much more regarded than 15k wheels on a 250k car.

It's no different, just happens to be for rich ppl.

trollface 09-20-2025 11:25 AM

.

Manic! 09-20-2025 11:38 AM

According to the sales guy at the new Porsche dealership in town it's an investment.

The Manthey stuff or a Porsche? The Manthey stuff no, 100% no, it's just another mod where you don't get your money back. If it's the car, it's also going to be a no. We haven't seen the bottom of the Porsche market yet. Unless you have a very desirable car, like a 992.2 GT3 Touring in PTS with backseats, you aren't likely to be making money on the car.

I went to look at a 992.1 Carerra T recently and it was sold as an asset that doesn't depreciate, and I wouldn't be surprised if the sales training is for them to sell it as an investment. The Carerra T is cool in stick, but it's not a collectible with the base engine imo. With the way taxes are, there's just no way you can make up 40k of taxes.

Best part is people buying 718 cayman/boxster thinking it was the last of the ICE but porsche just rugpulled saying ICE will return in the next-gen.

My premise to buy my M3 was that it was gonna be the last stick. Then the G80 happened :alone:

Well at least mine doesn't look like a beaver :alonehappy:
