Yeah same for us. We only entered MC in early March so our equipment is pretty good. But some of these guilds have been in MC since like early January. Its natural for them to have better equipment. Also take fact how they got most of their tier 2 equipment. For us, it ended in like April which wasnt good for some of our members who were waiting to grab their gear.

Also, Raganos would be spawnable everyday. So guilds could kill him once a day for 6 days straight. But they took that bug out.

My guild and i were bored yesterday and we decided to have some fun in the barrens.

Our group ( 1 lvl 55 paladin, about 4 high lvl 40s mix of hunter and paladins and 1 lvl 49 druid) decided to attack camp T. and everything was fun until some undead rogue name apocalypse came out of nowhere and killed us all.

now tell me, we have a group of about 6-7 players pluss a semi high lvl paladin and 1 single rogue wiped us! what the !&$% is that?

i hate the fact that rogues can corpse camp in stealth mode and we have no way to detect them.

and that stupid rogue just camp our corpse and 1 hit kill us after.. what a loser

Buffs after buffs. You can tell he has Mark of the wild. I assume he has Power Fort and maybe even BoK.

Flasks, potions, and buffs can push HP up for everyone.

How do you guys distribute loot in MC or any other instance within the guild?

We use DKP system (created by Hobben and Thott from Afterlife) except we do it so DKP in = DKP out. So we have set values of an item. Let's say Tier 2 Helm drops form Onyxia. It is worth 1000dkp. So 1000dkp/40 = 25dkp per person on the raid.

We usually average 100dkp for Onyxia and a full clear of MC including raganos we will get from 400dkp-800dkp.

The only problem is when items get Disenchanted such as our many druid loots, Helm of the Lifegiver, Obsiden Blade. We don't get DKP from those items. We have had times when we killed MC bosses and get no DKP because all the items are disenchanted.
Although we still get 15dkp per MC boss we kill just for bonus.

we dont have dkp. other guilds do but ours dont. we're talking about implementing it because it's more fair for those that always attend raids rather then have someone come on one raid taking all the loot while the ppl that attend everyone gets shafted

2 points per boss
1 point for being on time

2 points for attending Onyxia
4 points for the kill
1 point for being on time

Tier 1 equipment is 25 points
2 is 40

misc point values for various non-specific items.

That was done before DKP was invented in EQ but the problem was, some people would always roll horrible and that would result them getting 0 gear for months.

DKP is the most fair system there is. THe more effort you put in the guild, the more points, the more points the more items. If you dont do shit, you wont get shit.

Yes, you'll eventually get stuff with rolling but DKP ensures that the people that play most get it first. That and if cool shit drops, the people that put the most effort into the guild get it first.

You have to understand MC before you talk about it.
Drops are rare. We still have not seen some items. If I have been raiding for every raid the past 2 months, and the item I want finally drops and some guy who is on his 3rd raid whens a roll to win the item. I would /gamequit right there.

And if you dont think rings, trinkets, and necklaces make the differance, then I am suprised you are level 60.

the only really useful trinket ive ever gotten is my grunts trinket hah. rings and necklaces.. meh.. very little difference. 100armor ring? what is 100 armor? nothing man. 8stam? 10 stam? 10 agility?

things like 600 armor, 20 stam, 20 strength. those make a big diff.

sure if u add up your rings and stuff all together it makes a difference. but a "super" ring vs a really expensive auction ring is.. almost nothing.

ZF isnt too bad if you have a good group and you are about the right level. Killing Gah'z isnt hard if you clear off the mobs around the area. However getting the hammer of ZF to summon him is MUCH harder. Gotta go to a temple in hinterland to get a mallet from some girl, i believe she is lvl52. Then gotta travel to the temple where there are all elite trolls 45+ i believe, get that mallet charged up there and there are a couple of persistant elite wolves around that area as well.

Divino-matic Rod quest was pretty cool.

And there is no way you can get to champion without a good guild.

But imo, arms spec warriors can deal ALOT of damage in MC. Their crit rate is nice and while wearing plate, they can tear things up.

If you guys dont have a arms spec warrior or only have 1 or 2, you should accept Ulic.

i think im one of the higher warriors on my server. ive only seen two other warriors higher than me. and one of them has no life. haha

yeah. i can dish out lots of damage. and keep aggro. but just my life goes down pretty fast if everything is pounding on me.

but i have trouble keeping aggro if im not the first to charge. if someone else blasts away at the target first, i have to be lucky and get a few crits in for them to turn to me. the only real thing that keeps aggro is my damage. other than that i have to use mocking blow, taunt and challenging shout. sunder armor and heroic strike hah

So today we started our raid at 6:00pm killing Onyxia within 30mins. We then go clear to Raganos until 11:00. Then we just finished killing all 3 horde leaders.

Thank-you blizzard for not bringing in new high end content to make us bored and not play the game as much.

orcs have a passive 25% resistance to stun and .. stun.. i forgot the other one hah. also +5 to axes and 2H axes. and.. 25% increase your attack power for like 10 seconds or osmething and then 45 seconds -25% to your attack power.

tauren have warstomp which stuns the target for 2 seconds. and.. they get 5% more HP

undead can hold their breath underwater 3x longer, they can cannibalize dead bodies to regain health and have an ability that makes them immune to fear.

trolls.. fuck i dont know. they talk like jamaicans and they can.. i duno fuck. u can find out the rest on worldofwarcraft.com

i think i remember reading 11am. no doubt due to implementing battlegrounds. server maintenance has been totally unobtrusive lately. i mean they started this one at 3AM instead of before when they used to do it at 6AM.

the highest pvper on our server only has like 14k exp per week.

and now that battlegrounds comes out. i inspect most people. averages out aroudn 4000cp per day.

I get about 18000 CP off 500 kills or so. Yesterday was shitty...830 kills but only 16000 CP.

Anyways, I respeced for pvp. I'm 22/7/21 now (can't figure out what to put the last point into).

My shocks and lightning do about 1100 damage on a crit...which is about 20% of the time.

Uh, I don't know about your server, but on mine, we have many casual-hardcore guilds entering and clearing up to Garr in MC. There are even pickup raids who can clear the trash to Luci and pickups to Onyxia's Lair who wipe.

If you're level 47 then you should hang around Tanaris (Gadgetzan) for awhile. You could try Azshara but you might find the middle part of it a bit too much at your current level.

What I do now is... try to get some quests and then see which ones I can grind on. I prefer humanoid because they have less armor than beast. As a rogue, I can pick pocket humanoid and make 2 times the money from them (and potentially 3 times when they have junkbox which contains money). I can usually finish a mob in 10-20 seconds, then I have to move onto the next within 20 second so I can get a critical ambush on the next mob.

It's about the same tho because killing lower level mobs will result in less exp. You have to kill more to gain the same exp as opposed to killing higher lvl/same lvl mobs but I agree with the downtime on having to heal and such.

What I always do is go for mobs at least 2-3 levels higher then me. It's easier for me cause I'm a hunter so my pet takes most of the damage and I just range them from far away. In Azshara last night killing the lvl 52/53 naga around the Ruins of Eldarath I pick up around 630xp per kill.

Do some Zul'Farrak runs ALOT, you'll gain hella xp... Im level 55 and still do Zul'Farrak here and there (still fills up about 1/4th of my xp bar) and it has some pretty good loot that i DE.

I solo all the time. I feel no need to group because I do just as well if not better by myself. I can heal myself...do damage from a range and I hardly ever die. The only thing I need is for a mage to make me water. The way I figure, if the priests don't have the heal, neither do I.

I can easily go into BG and get 200 kills before I die once.

Plus, you get WAY more CP and faction by yourself than in a group.

Took down Korrak with 10 guys a few weeks ago. 4 of us were hunters, me and others were just kiting him back and forth. Did die twice though but respawned in the GY beside the center field and went back to killing right away.


I also like soloing in AV better, but thats cuz Im a ranged guy.

it doesnt make sense. if you play the way you do, AND group, you get more.

u get more faction because more probability that one of your raid mates tagged an NPC guard. if it dies, your whole raid gets reputation.

u get the CP u get already (divded among everyone else) and everyone elses kills get divided among you guys too.

you get more.

you get way less kills if youre solo, but u get more CP per kill.

you get way more kills if you group, and way less CP per kill.

i see most solo people get 200-350 kills per day. uh thats cool

i get 600-700 kills per day if i play the same amount of time in a group.

at the end it still makes out the same. u tell me why im the same rank as you, and i always group and play like way less than you do.

my idea was next patch blizzard forces everyone to group.

but then smorz came up with a better idea. you are automaticaly put in a group, and if you leave, you get booted from BG. if one team(alliance or horde) have 5+ more than the other, the team with more people gets cut down to +5 people.

alliance: 40.

and even still then. i could only form a group of 3. everyone else was not in a group cuz i could invite them all.

Wrong. It's a fact that you get more CP by yourself. Believe me. My guild has tried this. Myself and a shaman with the same build as me go into AV and he grouped, I soloed. I got 100k CP whil he got 45.

You're the same rank as me because I didn't PVP much at all before BG and even during BG, I took 3 weeks off to prepare for Molten Core raids. In fact, my guild's regular PVPers all took 3 weeks off and yet we're still ranked high. Lazaree from Black Templars is #1 on the horde side and he solos.

It's true...if you group then you'll get a chunk of everyone else's CP. I assume that if you group, you have healers. If someone is healing, they aren't doing damage. No damage = no CP so support classes eat up CP. Also, I do more damage per kill than a warrior and almost as much as a mage so if I group with a warrior and we're both killing things, he's benefitting off me since I can kill things more effficiently and barely take damage since I sit 30 yards away.

Either way...you get more CP solo than you do grouped. ALL the top 30 PVPers in the standings (who are all BT and TI) including myself (26) are all soloers in AV. I know this for a fact.

If you want CP, you go solo.

I've PVPed maybe 2-3 days this week for maybe 5 hours total and I will have 30k CP at least.

wtf how could solo korrak. that guy has like a kabillion times more life than any human player. and does like over 1000 damage per hit!

hey youre wrong about the top 30 being TI and BT. cuz i was standing 18 the week after BG came out. and I ALWAYS grouped.

im 33 now cuz i didnt BG for 1.5 weeks.

haha korrak is like a level 61 or 62 elite. that has like.. 100x my life which is high 4000's

7 of us took him on. in our graveyard. and we all died multiple times. no one. no one, can solo him. unless they had 1000000 instant potions that had a 0 cooldown, and could dual wield the grand marshal/high warlords 2h axe, with enchantments that reduced the speed down to 0.001 attack speed. with perhaps 60 000 attack power, and perhaps 30k armor. oh and maybe 20 000 life might help too

How do you think the mages solo anything? Kite. Same with me. Frost shock repeatedly. It will take awhile but it can be done. Stormborn and Spidz two manned Korrak.

I've soloed two Stone Guards at the same time and any of the demons in Winterspring leading to Hyjal. It'll take some potions but I'd be willing to bet I can do it since Korrak is not immune to frost shock.

Go to DM, get your mail helm, belt, and pants. Also get your hunter book.

I've jst recently "semi-retired my 40 warrior" to play a Hunter.

Its soo much fun!!

I remember W2K telling me that if you can get an elite pet it's better then a regular.

Lay down a freezing trap so they're frozen then start taming...the trap will buy you some time to get the taming done without having to sacrifice too much health

True we have to spent more money on ammo/food, and we have less one less bag slot space.


I wouldnt, however say hunters are uesless.
Hunters = constant range DPS.
Usually doesnt need a heal unless the warrior sucks at holding aggro.
Pets do additional DPS. Can assist MT or can be used as a OT.

I've never had to buy food for my pet because I get them off the mobs or I pick up shells from the naga and feed them zesty clam meat.

im using barman + heartseeker right now.. its decent but my guildies are using felstriker and other mc weapons...

Especially with Ragnaros 1.6 and the rogues getting lava splashes, Hunters are the best for constent DPS with minimal healing.

In PvP BG instances. With track abilities especially in Warsong hunters are so valuable.

So with great pulling skills, able to tranq mag (which is a MUST), able to be the top content DPS with minimal healing, we are far form useless in high end instances. If you are looking for useless, you are thinking of Mages besides Imps and Domo.

Yes he is easy now, especially with ALL THE FUCKING nerfs in MC. Ever since Dire Maul (Biggest MC nerf of all) came out, MC has gone to shit.

i love hunters.

two words: mining + engineering

mining will keep you rich, and provide stone for engineering your own bullets. be a gun hunter until you can do thorium bullets, then swap them for thorium-headed arrows from the NPC in Ironforge if you prefer bows.

and nothing beats a bear for a pet since they eat anything. if he's hungry you just bust out the fishing pole.

as for hunters in high end instances, i can't comment as far as playing one (had a 43 hunter but then realized PvE was boring), but as far as having em in the party, they're a great dps class and traps are awesome. and a good hunter will leave his pet on passive and then use him to try and pull aggro off me when i get it (i play a Priest). the biggest problem is the class seems to attract a lot of people who don't know what they're doing so the above often doesn't happen like that.

Mages are usually right after rogues in dps in MC (maybe a few warriors if they are equipped like crazy), so I hardly think they're useless.. I think you may have mistaken that fire mages make up the total population of mages :). I have yet lost to a hunter in dps charts, and don't ever intend to ;)

DPS charts annoy me because everyone tries to grow their e-peen by getting #1. many people take it to such a level that they won't even let up to let the warrior regain aggro. then they expect me to spam flash heals on them and even want me to shield them so they "don't lose casting time", then act surprised when i get aggroed. doesn't happen much though because i'm one of those "mean" priests that will let people die if they're doing something to threaten the safety of the group.

as far as warriors doing DPS, i have a friend who plays a warrior, and he consistently beats mages in the charts. it works out well because he usually manages to hold all the aggro by doing a ton of damage. i've never been to MC though... is it foolhardy for a warrior who is a main tank to not have a shield equipped in there?

I am currently using the devilsaur set with the shadowcraft belt. I am thinking if I should get the Stormshoud set. New set bonus = chance on hit restore 30 energy. (2% chance)

The critical % on that set is gold, and i don't plan on doing any instance run. I will just PVP all day.
