Damn, I was going to pick Killrogg as I use to be a Orc fan since the Orc vs. Human days but the realm suggestor picked Proudmoore so I went with that thinking I'd have optimized connection quality.. pretty sure you can't switch realms and keep the character(s) either.

Question though.. are we allowed to have multiple characters per account without having to pay additional fees unlike FFXI which charges extra per character.

Yeah, after switching people to differant realms a lot of things became very laggy and then everyone (at least on Kilrogg) got the boot and they did maintenance for half an hour. I just played NFS: U 2 while I waited.

Does any one know if the bonus pet that you get if you purchased the Collectors edition actually does any thing or can level? I picked mini-Diablo and now and then he will just stand there and create a fountain of fire and he appears to have a level but he doesn't attack nor gain any levels becausse I've had him since lvl.1 and I am now at lvl.6 with my char.

I played SWG too, what server were u on? I was on bloodfin Master CH hehe.. Only played that for about 3-4 months right up until the first jedi came out.

Played on Kauri and I quit about the sametime. Once my characters were maxed out the PVP got old so there really wasn't much to do. I had a Master Fencer/Pistoleer and a Master Doctor/Combat Medic on seperate accounts. Made soloing really easy was able to buff, heal my main character a ton.

Supposively it's normal for a new MMO to have server issues for up to a month, I agree Blizzard should have been a bit better prepared since they did a stress test but it could be a lot worse. There are a ton of newbs bitching about the lag and I am pretty sure most of them are new to MMO's and as for the fee well it does suck but it's no differant than renting a few games a month.

I loved FF but it sucked @ later levels.

WOW is much better than FF in terms of gameplay.

FF you have to party up with anyone to do anything.

WoW you can solo most of the quests. (Better if grouped)
FF you can't solo a rabbit that is 5 levels below you.

You don't need to be class 5 or 1million gil to get an airship pass.

In terms of class, every class are pretty much useful.
FF if you're samurai or dragoon or whatever, people put you on a less priority.

Quests: WoW got it. The quests are just worth doing it unlike FF.
The FF quests are mostly for fame.
But the WoW quests are for items, money, and fame. A much greater incentive for us to do them and have fun in the same time.

WoW got the raid system, which will be very cool when we do them. Its kind of like alliance in FF I guess, but you raid other players Horde vs Alliance, which is something I'm looking forward in doing.

Lastly, FF graphics is much better than WoW no matter how you see it... unfortunately compared to WoW... the graphics is all that FF has.

Drop FF, and play WoW.
Plus play it on Kilrogg server (Pacific).

Cuz you know its gonna be fun playing with us on Kilrogg.

Ya south Barrens is where I've been hunting since 21, I think I'm going to stay one more level because the loot and hides are really good. I'm about 2/3's through lvl 25 and I've yet to even go to the wailing caverns yet. I should spend less time levelling mobs and more time questing. I've gotten my leatherwork to the expert level just by hunting and skinning mobs none stop.

my blacksmithing and mining are far below my current level.

blacksmithing is like the hardest trade to level up. fuck. the easiest thing i can make that gives me one level per "make" is some shitty copper brace guard. and it requires 8 copper bars 1 malachite and 1 tigers eye. and this is just like a low level peice of shit.

i cant imagine what its like at higher levels. im reading that you need like 400 bars of true silver and all this shit. some guy estimated he spent like 150gold on leveling blacksmithing. thats crazy.

Smithing seems hard but haven't tried it myself. My Leatherwork is at the Master Level but no maxed, around 240ish. It's much easier because you get leather from a lot of the mobs you kill, although at the higher levels it takes a lot of leather and other components which aren't so easy to get.

I'm going to hit level 40 tommorow and finally get a mount & Chainmail, can't wait.

You should really try to get some points in Ranged Weapon Specialist and try to get the Aura. It works really well for groups, plus your pet gets the aura aswell.

Why did you max out your stings? You can only have one at a time and later on in the game, most of the stings Hunter's use, the MOBs are immune too.

Just something to think about if you want to redo your talent points.

But maybe yours works, I set myself up to be great for duels and Battlegrounds when they come out.

I don't really group so the group aura isn't really useful to me. I've grouped twice, one at around level 35 and I grouped once at 49. The only mobs that I've found immune to Serpant Sting are Elementals, other then that they stick on everything, 77 dmg every 3 seconds is a nice bonus.

At 60 I may want to respec if I group more but as it stands right now unless I'm doing an instance groups only hinder me XP & loot wise.

Still well worth it. Wait time is only on the servers with a billion people...and downtime is usually in the middle of the night. If you're playing at 4am...you can't really blame Blizzard. It's still pretty new...

any new online game always has shitty servers for the first few months

remember diablo II? hahahaha. remember SWG? fuck man. of course they're gonna have problems when like over 200 000 people sign up over a period of one month and flood the servers.

plus down times are only like a few hours or a day. it's not like youre LOSING it all. they do give people free days to make up for it. and also u get the rest exp bar. i only play 2-3 times a week now. i let both my chars. rest then use the exp bar up in those 2-3 days a week.

If you are familiar at all with the newspost, you know that it has been a spigot of almost unmitigated goodwill towards the title. We've been playing it for months in another form, and even chose to write thirteen comics for the guide. Understand that we don't need to take or even entertain projects if they are not utterly delicious, your readership of the site itself guarantees that. We took it because we loved the game and had faith that any hitches in the experience would be ground down before release. This has not been borne out.

I would not disagree with you if you said that the game was good - indeed, as delivered, I still maintain that in the Massive genre it provides the greatest reward for the least nuisance. It also succeeds in many ways corollary to that, but I've said plenty of things along those lines, and the puff piece phase is over - particularly with the European launch en route. Now is actually a good time to appraise their technology. It is, in a word, wanting.

I'm putting aside issues like class balance or Gamemaster abuse, because honestly those things are only a problem when the fucking server is up. They will no doubt be very interesting topics eventually, but it's actually four and five times a week at this point that I can't even log in to the game. It's not like I'm sitting here trying to connect at odd hours so I can catch them in something, either - this is in prime time, or on a weekend. The mail system works when it is good and ready. The servers themselves appear to have other things on their mind.

Every week, there is some new calamity that necessitates some huge response on their part, servers are coming down, but if you think that the servers coming back up again will represent an improvement in the basic functionality of the game you're mistaken. They took them down most of the day Thursday (and again for "emergency service" on Sunday), and when they came back up it should have been something supernatural but it was actually utterly imperceptible. It should have been like when the Genesis device hit and a lifeless rock became a fucking paradise. That didn't happen. So, if I say, as I'm about to, that their emergency service amounts to parlor tricks, what evidence can they give to the contrary? Because near as I can tell they've been doing "emergency service" since release, only they used to credit people's accounts for it.

If this happened in Galaxies, or Dark Age, or AO, of course it'd be everybody everywhere piling on. But it's Blizzard, and since they made a few good games years ago now they can do whatever the fuck they want to. Great policy, and it totally serves consumers. Good job. Where's Lum The Mad when you need him.

When a young person comes into a noticeable sum of money, it is often the case that strictures are placed on its expenditure. The thing is, any time there is an extended downtime (IE something that you would call "one of the worst", Blizzard gives free time to everyone for it. They just gave 2 days free to everyone today, and announced that they have completely replaced every single server they had.

WoW is a joke. It feels like I am still playing on beta and then I realize that I had actually bought a retail version of this game.
Thumb's up to blizzard for releasing a game that is not complete. I mean trying to get it out to the public before EQ2 and the Christmas rush is a great idea, it would be better if people could actually play aswell. Constent lags, disconnects, crashes and rollbacks do not make happy customers. And when we try to complain, guess what? Their forums are down aswell. If their forums are functional then their log-in for the forums are down. And if by slim chance we do get through to post a message, the same replies appear over and over again: Did you update your drivers? Open/close this port, are you behind a firewall? etc..
With over 600,000 copies sold over the holidays, that is an extra $30,00,000 (roughly) in game sales and $9,000,000 per month on connection fee, yet the servers are still horible.
Come on Blizzard, it's not that hard to figure out when releasing a game before the holidays, that during the holidays, it will generate greater sales. So you should of been prepared for the rush with the best hardware.

I wish I could be playing right now instead of typing this message, but of course, my server is down for "maintenance" repairs. Of course, the weekly 4 hour repairs, a 16 hour repair, and 2 hour repairs here and there will do nothing.

Thank-you for making me a sucker. I truly believed in Blizzard Entertainment that be able to make a wonderful MMORPG yet instead, you have robbed me blind.

I made a Horde guy too but he's only lvl 7.

It's funny how you PvE players say "When battlegrounds come out" this and that. Well that is just one area (maybe two). Have fun, but to truly enjoy the full game, and what Warcraft is about, PvP is where it is at. Well, after they add the honor system.

you get a lot more honor doing battlegrounds than running around areas hunting down opposing factions.

plus you can always raid.

plus whatever. if you reallyw anan pvp just type /pvp wherever you go.

just when im doing quests i dont want some jackass level 60 to come along and kill me
