apparently there are rumors coming from within the organization saying that management is leaning towards sending McCann back to junior so as to not rush his development...main knock against him is that his body is just not NHL ready and that he's already had a concussion.

I'm 80-20 on this (80% keep, 20% send back), kid seems like he's ready for prime time and plays a pretty complete game technically but i can see him getting wiped out and missing significant time with injuries

For the purpose of interpretation of the rule, there are two
judgments required for "icing the puck". The Linesman must first
determine that the puck will cross the goal line. Once the Linesman
determines that the puck will cross the goal line, icing is completed
upon the determination as to which player (attacking or defending)
would first touch the puck. This decision by the Linesman will be made
by no later than the instant the first player reaches the end zone faceoff
dots with the player's skate being the determining factor. Should
the puck be shot down the ice in such a manner that it travels around
the boards and/or back towards the end zone face-off dots, the same
procedure shall be in effect in that the Linesman shall determine
within a similar distance as to who will have touched the puck first.

For clarification, the determining factor is which player would first

That's exactly what I'm saying. An offside is black and white because there is a physical line there to determine whether or not a player is offside.

In the icing scenario with Sekera/Stajan, based on the two angles I saw it looked like Sekera would be first to the puck. It is subjective like you mentioned and the linesman obviously saw it differently. He had to make the call in real-time and was on the opposite side of Stajan so perhaps he had a much better view than I did.

A physical line across the hash marks would be black and white and could determine an icing for a close call like this.

Even wd's radio interviews last week and week before alluded to them staying. When everyone had their panties all bunched up with the kids riding the bench in the third. WD basically said they would get more minutes and opportunities as the season went along.

Boho started off with real sparing minutes early on too, but there certainly isnt the whining like now when horvat was getting about 10 mins a game. And he was also in and out of the lineup, but it felt like he played lots because he was injured early and got a late start to the season. I think it was close to December before horvat hit his 9 games.

The woman reportedly told authorities that the investigation has caused "tremendous stress for her and her family."

District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III still ultimately controls whether the case will go forward or not. Sedita is running unopposed in an election on Tuesday to become a State Supreme Court judge. He declined to comment on the report to the Buffalo News.

Tuesday's news follows a weekend report from the Buffalo News in which three sources said that it appears highly unlikely any criminal charges will be filed against Kane in connection with the case. That story said authorities have decided there are too many questions about the woman's allegations for them to proceed with charges.

Kane was accused of assaulting a woman in her 20s in August at his off-season home outside Buffalo. He has not been charged with a crime.

In a Sept. 25 news conference, Sedita said "the question in my mind is not when this case will go to a grand jury; it's if this case will go to a grand jury." That day, Sedita was clarifying a bizarre twist in the case - a "hoax" as Sedita called it - regarding a report of a misappropriated rape kit evidence bag. Little information had surfaced about the case since then.

Through the first month of the season, Kane sits alone in third among the NHL's scoring leaders with 16 points in 12 games. He has faced derisive chants - including "She Said No" and "No Means No" - during different stops on the road this season, including Philadelphia and Brooklyn.

Even if the case appears to be winding down, Kane told reporters in Chicago on Sunday that he will not comment until the investigation is officially concluded.

"Those are just reports and not really any facts or anything so far," Kane said. "You understand the law and I'm not the only case going on in that district. Really? I admit that this group is more likeable than I thought they would be, mostly due to the presence of a bunch of rookies and hope...but camaraderie?

Not sure I feel that with this group. In 2011, you had a whole bunch of Canucks that have been Canucks for a long time as well as a few more that were either from the area (Malhotra, Hamhuis) or were just instantly likeable because they were the underdog 4th liners that no one had heard of (Tanner Glass, Tambellini, Oreo, Maximum Lapdance)

This current group of Canucks are...different. Gone are the core guys that we thought would be lifers like Bieksa and Kesler and now we have short term solutions like Ryan Miller and new guys that we don't really have ties to like Brandon Sutter and Radim Vrbata. That's sort of unfair because Miller and Vrbata have made significant contributions to the team but this team doesn't seem as close or as close to the city because they didn't grow in the system.

Bench didn't seem shortened at all. Lots of line juggling in the third period though. Hutton screened Miller pretty good on the third goal. No buffalo player in front of Miller and Hutton is blocking his view. Beartschi had a pretty good game, hard on the forecheck and created some good chances.
