Burrows is a real stand up guy. I remember going to a signing session at Highgate Save On Foods - daughter wanted to go. Dude was fairly new to the organization (could have been his first year as a Canuck). Anyway, I was very impressed with the way he carried himself. Very humble and down to earth. Hard working. I'm happy John Scott is playing... Someone like him has never been an all star and I know for a fact he will really appreciate the experience more then anyone else that's going. For some odd reason, I was having trouble sleeping in this Saturday morning so I decided to head to New Town for breakfast, since they open at 6:30AM and offer an acceptable amount of decent food for the price (and also have very good bakery items). When I got there, I was promptly greeted by the female server and was asked to choose my own seat. I chose to sit in a booth, a choice I will later regret. For an early Saturday morning, the place was decently filled. To my right was a round table of maybe 5-6, appeared to be Filipino. Directly in front of me was an older man appearing to be having tea and reading the news on his own. To his right was another older man having his morning coffee. As for staff, aside from the server there was also a younger man working the steamers in the front. Seemingly average Chinatown morning.

After reviewing the menu, I had opted for the Chinese style set breakfast and had chosen to have a radish meat pie with century egg congee, another choice I will later regret. My food arrived within minutes of ordering. I take my first few bites and then things start to get strange...

Note: up until this point, I had only interacted in English, though I am completely fluent in Cantonese, including slang.

As I'm eating, I began to notice a louder-than-normal conversation between the young man up front, the server, and the man in the booth directly in front of me. I wasn't really paying attention at first, but then the guy at the next table joined in too. I got curious. I glanced up at the man in front of me. From my seat, only the back of his head and a tiny bit of his shoulders are visible. He was strangely rocking and bobbing his body in the sort of rhythm that us men all know too well. This man was starting to sweat profusely. My stomach churned. I started paying attention to the conversation:

Young Manager: Mr. Chan, are you doing weird stuff under the table again?!
Server: He is! He's in here all the time for breakfast. He's got his pants off.
Old Man: I'm almost finished... I'm almost finished...
Manager: You know I can't let you do that. If you insist, you'd best not come tomorrow.
Old Man: I'm almost finished... Give me a second...
Man at next table: I don't understand, why don't you finish these things in the comfort of your own home first beforehand?!

I hear some shuffling and scrunching of newspapers, plastic bags, and napkins, followed by the old man heading to the washroom with a fist full of napkins.

Deeply disturbing experience. Especially disturbing to know this man is a repeat offender, and all parties involved were acting so nonchalantly about the matter. Seemed like I was the only one disgusted by this. ANY day that starts with a man jerking it in front of you will not be a good day.

TL;DR: Ate congee while an old man at the next booth was openly rubbing one out. Eat here and you may sit on old man splooge.

Zegmus actually had a really good year last year putting up decent offensive stats on a really bad offensive team and was one of the toughest players to play against on the Sabres last year, he was one of gritty leaders of the team. This year his offensive has just disappeared, but I guess that comes along with being put into a more shutdown/checking role now that Eichel, O'Reilly, Kane and Reinhart are on the team.

Maybe its because I'm a Sabres fan, but Girgensons being at the all star game wasn't as glarring as the other examples given each team needed a representative. I'm not a fan of that rule, they should just name the players having the best season regardless if each team has a representative.

If he were only requesting, I don't think it would be a huge red flag, but this guy made his first trade request barely 1 year into his ELC and, about halfway through his ELC, is demanding a trade to the point where he refuses to play.

The whole point of ELCs and RFAs was so players pay their dues before they earn more money and rights (to prevent what was happening in the NFL, where rookies were making ridiculous demands before they ever played a pro game).

I know under the last CBA, the team could choose to "tow" the contract if the player refused to report (i.e. when Nabokov came back from Russia and the Islanders picked him up on waivers, he refused to report and NYI threatened to have his contract "towed" to next season).

Not sure if that changed in 2013.

Gillis signed him out of college a couple of years ago (Torts year), he played a couple of games with the Canucks at the end of the season, didn't look too bad.

Played in Utica last year, Travis Green utilized him heavily as a checking line center en route to their Calder Cup Finals appearance.

Benning chose not to qualify him or offer him a contract extension this offseason, but Zalewski, from Utica, chose to sign an AHL contract to play for the Comets.

Travis Green really likes him, he skates decently, has decent size. Not much of a physical forward and limited offensive abilities, but a reliable checker at the AHL level at least. I guess Green convinced JB to give him another shot at the NHL level after a couple of years developing in the minors, thus the NHL contract earlier this week.

Issue is the twins are playing on the West coast so a lot of the east don't see how good the twins are.
The Twins are never in the news for bad things. ie beating up taxi drivers.

On the heels of an earlier TSN report that veteran Anaheim center Shawn Horcoff was facing a “lengthy suspension,” the NHL has released the following:

Horcoff has been suspended for 20 games, without pay, for violating the terms of the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the suspension is accompanied by mandatory referral to the NHL/NHLPA Program for Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health for evaluation and possible treatment.

Based on his average annual salary, Horcoff will forfeit $357,526.88.

The National Hockey League will have no further comment on this matter.

Horcoff, 37, becomes the first NHLer to be suspended for PEDs this season. Previously, Maple Leafs forward Carter Ashton and Buffalo center Zenon Konopka had both been banned 20 games each for violating the league’s Performance Enhancing Substance Program.

Horcoff’s been a regular lineup presence for the Ducks this year, appearing in 45 of 46 games while averaging 13:38 TOI per night. He played just over 10 minutes in Anaheim’s last game, a 4-3 win in Detroit on Saturday.

Based on Anaheim’s schedule, Horcoff won’t be eligible to return until Friday, Mar. 11, when the Ducks take on St. Louis at Scottrade. That could change, however, as the club still needs to make up a date against Washington that was postponed last week due to a severe snowstorm.

PHT has reached out to the Ducks for comment on the Horcoff suspension. The club replied, saying GM Bob Murray will have a statement released soon.

It does matter as the CCM Skate Jerseys fit completely different from the RBK Orca jerseys. The Skate jersey is shorter and wider vs the Orca but depending on your body type and or preference of fit that may actually be better for some.
