hah! fixed my gay idle finally. god it was pissing me off. problem was the car was revving itself up and down at what was supposed to be idle from like 900-1500 rpm. hard to look gangster when your car doesnt idle properly. it seems with the extra load of turning the blower the iacv wasnt sure how to compensate so it jsut wandered around. target idle on the ecu was 800 rpm, so i just rolled the idle set screw up a few turns, no difference, so then i rolled it back to where it was and the slowly went down till it started idling right, i go look at the tak, bingo 800 right where the ecu wants it. idles like a champ now

ya danny your car blows harsh black when you're on it. while its in for the valve adjustment ask them to check o2 operation for sure, 100ooo kms' usual drop out rate.
car seems to move well, same to jeff-h, good job fellas.

girlcrazy_420 03-29-2007 06:41 PM

Removed Stereo, rear seat, carpet, and insulation. Thinking the spare tire and jack may serve its purose one day  Vacuumed and cleaned the rest of the interior.

Yay the misfire's Fuc(ing continue!!! Could my Vtec sensor be causing this? The light only comes on when I engage Vtec, Fack this getting annoying. Could this just be a malfunctioning sensor maybe? Seriously this problem is making lose sleep as all I can think about is that dam "check engine" light when I get into my car uhhhh I want my sleep back!!

That thing needs some Honda technicians TLC. It'll be a great car when he's done, but i can not believe that guys drove it like that

zumvette 03-29-2007 09:57 PM

put an Airaid TBI spacer on the 2wd 350 s-10, noticed a bit of power on the bottom nothing to serious but a lil. and the check engine light doesnt seem to come on at all any more. wierd.

fourtirefire 03-29-2007 10:15 PM

not much difference with the air filter, a little less hesitation at low end, but it's still there... def gotta see after the fuel filter and valve set.. it ticks like a clock from the valvetrain.

proshoraca 03-30-2007 05:35 PM

if it were mine id check o2 replace if questionable, and full motorvac service (my boss's sister has an '00 h22 as well with poor power, was in harmony honda for hours upon hours of diagnostic time, with zero positive results, she then came in and we did a hot engine flush and a fuel system service and it's dam sexy, she's very, very happy with it).

edit- are these maf cars? if so check the condition of the hotwire, and the cold wire inside sensor. with that bagg'd airfilter, that will cause hesitation, erratic idle, as well as running rich(if dirty wires). clean with intake spray blasts if this is the case.

zumvette 03-31-2007 06:22 PM

i modded a new hd ujoint today

fourtirefire 03-31-2007 07:16 PM

installed my sirius radio, read my CEL codes, turns out I had misfire in cylinders 1,2,3,4 along with an IAC valve code.

Cleaned out the IACV, and throttle body, replaced the rotor and cap, and the hesitation is all gone, the idle is normal, and it feels stronger all thru the rpm range!
