...Really? Nixon has been around for 10+ years.

I'm personally not a fan, but they really did well on building their brand from the ground up, so for that I give them respect.

Quality is average for a typical quartz. It's a generic off-the-shelf quartz movement dresed up in a pretty casing. I could never justify the price for one when a Seiko or Citizen can be had for the same price, or often even less.

But if you're just after looks, then Nixon, Fossil, Diesel, whatever.. are all more or less the same watches.

I haven't bought a watch in ages, in fact i've been going watchless on my wrist for awhile now

But i'm back in the mood for them and have been wearing my older ones and now I'm looking at getting a new one

what do you guys think about Corum watches? Im specifically looking at the Admirals Cup 44 Challenger

like so

going to have to head into montecristo to see if they have any (apparently they're the only official retailer here) hopefully they aren't getting robbed when i decide to go :lol

i think birk's is also a retailer because i recall trying on the older admiral's cup 48 there in richmond centre (when they were still there).
they're very solidly built and wear great even with a 48mm watch size that i tried on. very unique and different. there's another dealer here in richmond, damincci jewellers iirc

anyone know a good watchmaker to service Omega's? I know of Otto Friedl and Norbert the German Watchmaker and that they both do excellent work, but I'm wondering if there are any others they may recommend?

What are people's opinions on Bell & Ross watches? Specifally the BR-01 series? Thinking of treeting myself to a Xmas present with my Profit Sharing Cheque from work.

Casio pathfinder, been quite reliable and durable. I use it for my military stuff. Plus it's solar power which also helps eh.

I'm looking forward to receiving my PAW-2000 soon! Going to be wearing it on a RTW trip.

Got an orange seiko sumo incoming, along with a marinemaster (MM) rubber from Seiya; I have been eying this piece for a while, and was torn between this and the discontinued seiko samurai.

This is what it'll look like on the MM strap

Nice choice.
I had both and the Sumo is definitely higher quality than the samurai.
Seeing the picture makes me miss my perfectly modded Sumo :(

I should have the MM300 in my hands tomorrow! :woot2:

cantona 12-18-2012 03:04 PM
