does anyone know how to get avi files to play on the ps3. some of the files that i burned on to the dvd play but some of them dont. do i need to convert them so then can play on the system?

I'm assuming you're already running the latest firmware?
how are they encoded? I have yet to come across a AVI that can't play on the PS3 (Divx, xvid)

anyone pick up some of the $20 games from Bestbuy? I managed to get GRAW2 and The Darkness. Crazy price for two relatively new games.

More specifically my NHL08 keeps freezing. Usually after an hour or so of gameplay. Kinda annoying.

Is there any known problems with the system (ie. xbox360 and ring of death)?

NHL08 is just a buggy game

no problems with 08 here execpt somteims the load times drag on

I've had my copy of NHL 08 since Oct 2007 and have played over 300 games online and it only froze on me ONCE.

For the past couple of days, though, the game seems to take longer to load (when connecting to EA's server) and a lot of games are quite laggy resulting in some very frustrated losses.... lol

I don't think it's the game or the system that's causing these slow loading times, it's probably EA's servers.

R6V was awesome.. better than COD4 imo (if u dont consider graphics)

I wnted R6V but it was sold out everywhere I went.

you CAN you a usb wireless....i just put the USB dongle in the usb slot and my keyboard and mouse worked instantly didnt even have to register anything

i use a Logitech 3200 wireless package

i doubt that means anything.. just a random generated ad in regards to high-def discs. the ad was for Top-selling Blu-Ray discs when i was reading the article.
