Does pre distressed just mean they've been washed and they aren't raw/dry? So nudie does sell some like this? I usually get my jeans ans wash/dry them to shrink the length as much as possible and then get them hemmed, can I do that with them? Are all average joe's not raw denim? http://www.nudiejeans.com/shop/org-steve-replica/p/2504 |
Yea pre distressed is denim thats been washed. They aren't raw. Nudie does sell pre distressed denim. I wouldn't recommend washing raw denim before they are broken in.. The link you've provided is pre distressed denim. I'm not sure if Nudies sell average joe's in raw. I don't see it on the website, I'm not 100% sure though, I've never owned a pair of Nudies before. |
thanks for the reply. i want pre distressed, didn't know nudie made any. So that pair of average joe's will be just like most my other pairs of jeans where I can wash and dry them right at purchase and then get them hemmed not having to worry about wearing them in or losing a lot of the dye/darkness? As it is now, I don't wash my normal jeans EVERY time I wear them. I wash them every few times but I like washing and drying them right away so after they're hemmed they don't shrink anymore. After that I actually hang dry them. I think I'll give some nudies re distressed a try. So with raw denim you want to buy them as tight as you can fit on because they're stretch as you break them in, but this pre distressed I'll probably want to buy slightly on the bigger size since I'll be washing and drying them right away? Ok, so if one wanted to find a pre distressed nudies in about a 36 or 38, where would one go? I've seen nudies at a bunch of random stores but always just a small handful of times and ofton raw (or what i thought was at the time). |
Yea, you should be able to wash and dry that pair of Average Joe's without worry. But, any kind of denim will lose some dye/darkness on its first wash. |

No. Just sunlight will eventually darken the leather. |
Kind of a dumb question, but what would be the best way to stretch out a pair of new jeans before washing them for the first time? Aside from generally just wearing them and bending at the knees/waist, how else could I stretch these areas out a little? |
Soaking and pulling might work |
Took a day off of the raws today and threw on some old Sevens... to my surprise, it felt verrry nice, my god. I forgot how soft and free non-raws are |

Washed my nudie thin finn's today I know they aren't that faded, but I got a pair of APC Petit standards so I won't be wearing the nudies much anymore so thought might as well wash the nudies. These are 7-8 months in, and will post the finished picture when they're dried. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...80720592_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...77706379_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...95425862_n.jpg |
