d1 11-08-2008 09:02 PM

For fantasy reasons (I have backstrom) I was hoping it'd be a 1-0 win

k3lv 11-08-2008 09:14 PM

just got back from the game it was an awesome win for the canucks! Lu saved the day multiple times as usual. Nice to see Salo get that first goal too. Good job by Sedin to seal it on a very nice read and finish!

lilaznviper 11-08-2008 09:29 PM

let see if lu can break the shutout record
5 games in a roll

wahyinghung 11-08-2008 09:44 PM

Yeah Canucks win !!!! Who's going to see Forever Faithful on Monday Nov 10 ?

trdees 11-08-2008 10:36 PM

so what do you guys think is going to happen when demitra and hansen are back, is fatass going back to manitoba?

IMO pyatt should be sent down

orange7 11-08-2008 10:45 PM

~10 more mins and lu beats his own record.

Pyatt won't get sent to the Moose. If anything, Brown may lose his spot on the team and Hansen may possibly get sent down too.

SumAznGuy 11-08-2008 11:16 PM

Nice, the Canucks game is on CBC replay.

lilaznviper 11-08-2008 11:17 PM

brown is gunna get sent down... i think wellwood will keep his spot since he is good excellent and hansen will get sent down

Harvey Specter 11-09-2008 12:23 AM

Great game tonight, should have had 3-4 goals but oh well.

On a side note I met Gary Valk at Glowbal tonight. Just made small chit chat but man does he have one hot ass girlfriend or wife. Wow.

AzNightmare 11-09-2008 12:36 AM

I'm pretty sure Wellwood has secured a spot now. He's too talented to get sent down when you have so many other guys you should send down, it shouldn't be a hard decision.

hotjoint 11-09-2008 01:18 AM

great game, lets see how long luongo can keep his SO streak :)

Xnova 11-09-2008 01:37 AM

if AV send down wellwood, he should get fired

It would be considered career suicide right now the way things are going.

Sundin's name came up again when CBC interviewed Wellwood. Interesting history on the guy (Wellwood), too. Explanation was given as to why he showed up to training camp out of shape.

I don't know how many people watch the featured interviews after HNIC, but this one was pretty good. You get to find out a lot about some of these players. I thought Wellwood handled the questions well. NHL players are (most of them) excellent when interviewed.

I recall a feature done a few years back by CBC that showed how players are prepped for media. It's like part of a player's training - what not to say, how to handle tough question, etc.

Yes, he is on a roll, that's for sure. Let's hope he can get at least 6 in a row this time around.

I wander if our backup goalie will ever get a chance to play with the way things are going.

Hondaracer 11-09-2008 08:02 AM

fuck Lu is killing in the pools..

in our pool points top 3 points are like this:

Lu - 35pt's
Malkin - 22
Nabokov - 22

Canucks (9-6-0) next 2 games..

Wednesday @ home vs. Avalanche (6-8-0)
Saturday@ home vs. Leafs (6-5-4)

They have a couple days off before facing Colorado who has recently come off of a 5 game losing streak, only to beat Nashville at home last night 1-0. I think Joe Sakic is questionable with his ailing back injury which kept him out most of last nights game. Luongo lovers will note that Colorado has only been shut out once this season and that was vs. Calgary when they lost 3-0 just before Halloween where they began their 5 game losing streak.

The Canucks have won 5 of their last 6 games outscoring their opponents 20-9. The biggest chunk of goals allowed came against Anaheim in that lengthy shootout win a few nights ago when they allowed 6. Vancouver leads the league in SO's thanks to Luongo (5). Although suffering on the PP, the Canucks remain 3rd in the league in goals for with 38.

I think the Canucks will take advantage of the strugging Avalanche here at home.. It will be a good game though as history has shown. I think Vancouver will also go the distance defensively over the course of the next two games because they want to keep Lu's streak going. I wouldn't doubt if Vancouver allows a goal or less Tuesday.

I guess we'll see tho! Wish I had tickets for this one.
