Guaranteed he'll get resigned for around 1.5-2m. Less and it'll be a miracle. More and it might be a bit much as much as I like Burrows. I've been cheering for the guy for the past three years now but I probably wouldn't pay more than 2.

Kesler is a bargain at $1.3

Harvey Specter 11-05-2008 04:13 PM

I could see Burrows making around $1.3 - $1.5. $2 million would be nice but I think that'll be pushing it.

Hondaracer 11-05-2008 04:43 PM

at least players like Burrows actually would "earn" the 2 mill, regardless of market value

trip 11-05-2008 04:52 PM

burrows works fucking hard

i dont remember if i posted this, but i do remember saying that im fine with wellwood being a couch potato with a beer gut. as long as he scores goals consistantly.

thats right. you can't teach hockey sense. its either in you or its not. with so many variables that can happen at any given second, its a gift to be able to predict where the puck will be before the puck even gets there.

I believe he makes 1.75

Not sure how much guys like Madden make but its probably a few mill above kes.

hotjoint 11-06-2008 07:38 AM

Nice goal by wellwood in that video. Burrows def needs to be paid more. He works his ass off.

I would disagree with that. When Gretzkey was young, his dad would make him draw on a piece of paper with a pen where the puck was on the ice when they were watching hockey on TV. But then again, none of his brothers did too much in the NHL.

If he actually keeps pace and hits 50-60pts, I'm sure he will get more than 2M especiallly on the open market.

I don't get the terminology of "pace" in hockey. We always keep hearing, "considering the recent point production of 'so & so player', they are on pace for 'so & so' points.

Its almost a pointless remark so why base assessments on it

AzNightmare 11-06-2008 11:56 AM

yeah, I find those pace stuff pointless. Can't really make judgement on a player until at least over one season. Probably over several seasons to see consistency. But for example Wellwood is on fire right now. I highly doubt he will keep it up though. I mean he's on pace to surpass the Sedins. I doubt Burrows is gonna hit 50-60. He's already begin to slow down a bit. But maybe 40pts if he has a really good season.

Ok I think we're giving Wellwood a bit too much credit for his first goal! It was a garbage goal and you & I both know that good things happen when you go to the net. :)

My point was that I think Burrows can get more than 2M on the open market. Add to the fact if he does get 50pts + it'll be even more of a case.

Hey go tell TSN and other sport writers its pointless lol. But if you don't consider it you're basically saying you don't think he can keep his point production up. Which may be the case, but for me right now 5 on 5 I think the Kesler/Burrows line is basically our #1 right now.

AzNightmare 11-06-2008 02:08 PM

Good things also happen when the puck is thrown at the net, but apparently, Canucks' PP doesn't know that.

his dad also built him a rink in the backyard and made him chase rebounds off the boards yet somehow only wayne was the only one who had the gift.
