I acutally don't remember this game. I remember the score, but actual events happening... when the goals were scored, etc. I don't really remember.

during the 94' playoffs was when I started following Canucks and hockey, and I was kinda young at that time.

For some reason, after watching the '94 Cup Final game just now.. I found that all those players took a lot of un-needed crap from each other. All those slashing, holding, insane amounts of interference and a whop load of other crap.

It's not as exciting as I'm used to seeing in regards to hockey. And it sure as hell looks a lot tougher than now.

Did they have cap limits back then? So many big names on the NYR team..

There was no salary cap before the 2004/05 lockout... thus, you had teams with deep pockets regularly blowing the wad on big name free agents... hence the term, "Buying a Cup".

The hooking was ridiculous compared to today's. The guy chasing a player would basically latch onto the other player with a hook and use their momentum to catch up and those weren't even called. Now, if the stick even touches the opposition player's glove, its a hooking call.
