i never experienced the battery problem either until recently. When I first got the phone the battery would at least last a day. Now I have to charge the phone during the day just so it doesn't go dead.

For memory leak, I'm going by the application memory. When the phone first starts up, I'm around 50MB free application memory. After a couple days the free memory drops to around 30MB or less.

I can't stream anything right now either. Youtube, Moodio, Metacafe etc. all cut out around 45 seconds. What the hell is the point in having 6GB data per month if I can't stream?

I'm gonna try a battery pull. If that doesn't fix it, I'm calling Rogers to get a new phone. Hope they reimburse me for my screen protector:D

Just did a battery pull and I still can't get a full day out of my battery. After about 8 hours of work and very very minimal use of the phone, I'm down to 20% left.

Going to try and re-install .162

Edit: Just installed 167

just got my bold and gettin it unlocked today or tmr =p.

So far .167 is working pretty good. No resets or crashes. Application memory isn't as good as .162 but at least my battery is lasting 2 days without a charge now :D.

Still no streaming using 3G :(

.162 got me about 5 days of battery life.

The battery life extension is startling. I can only imagine what horrid things the old OS version must have been doing.

Do u guys use 2G and 3G at the same time? Is there a point/need/difference to use both?

I use 2G only. I didn't see much difference from 3G and I get more battery life when im on 2G.

Okay my phone went crazy this morning. The little timer started to blink and wouldn't stop. It's drained out all my battery in a short time and I tried the battery pull out. I somehow stopped the problem but it's doing it again right when I was about to answer a BBM msg.

Anyone have this problem?

Ya just a lot of responses to get a new bold. I'm going to upgrade my OS today and see what happens. If not then I guess it's another phone call to Rogers....*sigh*

Update: K i updated my OS, and things seem to be okay now. Batt life seems good for now as well.

Not as often, but it prevented me from loading revscene properly to allow me to log in......

But ya the new OS is awesome, my battery life is absolutely superb.

I have the security timeout on so it asks for password after 2 minutes of inactivity (there's really no security with this phone without this feature, and the encryption and secure erase are uselss without it being enabled).

If I have the phone in bedside clock mode, the security timeout interrupts the bedside clock and the screen goes to the homescreen instead of the clock and the backlight _no longer goes off_, it stays on until I go and enter the password (then it asks to exit bedside clock and if I choose no, the same cycle happens)...

The new OS didn't fix this lame bug

^i found the security timeout to be too annoying and inconvenient. I only turn it on now when I"m with nosy friends or very public places.

i just ordered this phoen from rogers on a retention plan!

the guy told me it wasnt possible to wavie teh 35 admin fee, and i just see somebody on this board who got it waived... retentions did allow me to get the bold with the $15 data plan tho, and gave me 3 months unlimited browsing...

The 3 months unlimited thing is standard from what all the folks on RFD are saying.

I'm thinking of picking up a bold as well. Just have to find somebody that wants to by my 2g iPhone.

How are the multimedia functions on the phone? Only thing I'm really interested in is the ability to listen to music.
