well i spoke with rogers and they are going to credit me back the 100, so im only paying 199.99 for the bold like everyone else

they havent even shipped my bold yet, its on backorder... blah, shouldve told me when i ordered it in the beginning! pretty much all the stores have stock, but they wont let me drop by a store to pick one up... which is gay, they have no estimate time to when the bolds will be sent out...

oh yes i forgot to add...bold promo prices for upgrades have dropped to 99.99 b4 mail in rebate of $50 so that means u can get the bold for 50 bucks lol. i think it only applies to customers who are not data customers yet or have gotten the free curve/pearl upgrade sheet.

Can you get us more details?

I'm looking to switch to a bold and currently do not have a data plan. Does that mean I have to subscribe to a voice + data plan to get this price? :confused:

I renewed my contract on Nov. 1 and got the bold for $175

I wasnt on a data plan before my renewal so I added that

yes voice and data 3 yrs. some ppl are gettin the promotional pricing of 99 b4 50 dollar mail in rebate i'm not exactly sure wut upgrade tier level you need to be. i've seen it on level 3s and 5s.

To clear it up here, the discount to get a bold for 49.99 you need two criterias..one of which is never being a data customer before, second of which is you need at least a level 3 upgrade. Now I haven't been able to get an answer why some people are getting bolds for 50 bucks while some customer are getting 174.99 for it. It was either an error that some people benefited from or it could be that only people that were offered $0 for a blackberry curve or pearl got this offer. I've been trying to get an answer even from my dealer lines and customer service..you name it i tried but no answer...the two criterias i saaid earlier does apply though. And you can use those two reasons to argue with retentions to get the bold for 49.99.

I just upgraded to .185 from .162. Originally had .167, but didn't like it so I downgraded back to .162. People say that the browser is faster. And it does feel faster! Same with BB Maps. So far it's the best for me! I also have a bit more RAM.

I still have a problem watching youtube videos... It doesn't go pass 47 secs! There's a fix somewhere, but I rather have the firmware fix it for me... It gives me a "Wireless network connection disconnect. Verify connection settings" error. Unless it's Rogers that's doing it! It's fine when I use Wi-Fi... Weird...

I fall into criteria one for sure, I've never had a data plan before.
However I'm not sure what you mean by level 3 upgrade..I'm guessing it has something to do with
how much you pay per month?

Either way I guess its too late, I've had my bold for almost 2 weeks now

i just came back from rogers and they told me that its 199 for the bold but only if you sign up for the data plan.. like wtf man,

sign up for the cheapest dataplan then

i signed up for the 17.50 + 15 data plan... u get unlimited emails with it so might as well roll with it... the combo was cheaper then my existing plan with rogers so i decided to take it

it also costs $100 to cancel the data plan, so u can take that into consideration... 199 + 100 = 299 for the bold

They're not.

I have the $17.50 plan + $30 6GB data and $15 Value Pack that includes the caller id, VM, 2500 text, etc

I use to have the All City Fido for $45 + $20 Value Pack with Rogers...SAF and 911, tax not included yet

I've got a bit of a situation that maybe some of you more blackberry saavy ppls can help me with

So I uploaded a couple pics to my facebook from my bold today at work.
They uploaded fine, however now on my standby screen I have a tiny little "f" (I'm guessing its the facebook icon) and the number 2 right to the left of it

Is this just notifying me that I have 2 mobile uploads so far?
And how do I get rid of it?

it means you have 2 new facebook notifications.

go inside the facebook app for your BB bold to view the new notifications.

I have a BB curve , but i believe its facebook app works the same way as your BB Bold
