wow that's a lot of snow for a day (judging by the tree, assumed most have fallen off from prior snow)

People either have to get out and dig the snow out of the way so they can go around the car, or drive dangerously close to the parked car. It's a back alley for christs sake - there's barely any room to move when there's no snow. I wish they'd have some common sense to either park closer to the fence so that they don't block one of the tracks, or find somewhere else to park. Ugh...people like that make my blood boil!

Exactly what happened when I was coming home today, there was no tracks cuz of the faggot that parked on 1 of the track. The suv infront of me going down the alley almost crashed into the parked car and when it was my turn to go, I almost slide into the parked car too since I had to make my own track, those faggots should either take the time to shovel a spot in the front and park there if there's no room in the back or park on the main street and walk to house instead of blocking and making the alley so dangerous.

Atleast that's faster then the heros that drive 10km/h on a one lane road on New Years morning!

If it stays snowing like this all night, I can't even imagine how nasty it will be when I get up tomorrow. My wife has to work in Port Kells at 6am doing first aid at the Best Buy warehouse. Its going to be crazy, we'll take Trans Canada so it should be plowed, but the side roads are still going to be nasty.

at this rate, going up to sfu will be impossible, it's snowing a good amount in Richmond already.

Buses are making their way up Burnaby Mtn Parkway, but slowly. If the snow keeps up, those going to school on monday better leave early as there are way less parking spots than normal thanks to all the mountains of snow and ice.

I'll try to take some pics of the mounds if there is enough light, when I go out to get more gas later.

Posted this in the wrong thread, LOL.

In case any of you are looking for salt, they had a lot of it at the new Canadian Tire on Grandview Hwy. It's the more expensive blue stuff. Not Alaskan Ice, but Sifto's version of it. $9.95 for a 10kg bag. I bought 4 bags of the regular rock salt at the CT in Langley yesterday at $3.99 each. Costco in Langley is hoping for the Alaskan Ice Melt stuff possible tomorrow if the truck arrives on time. Home Depot says Wednesday's their delivery date of Ice Melt. Although weather is supposed to warm up, it always snows up until April. I don't think we've seen the last of this shit.

Armind 01-03-2009 08:38 PM

Fuck, my alley is the alley of hell. All ICE!!!!!!!!!!!

quasi 01-03-2009 08:47 PM

Still snowing in Langley. I found one plus though, went to Safeway to get some groceries and I was 1 of 2 customers in the store which made for some easy shopping. The roads really are not that bad. You have to be a bit more cautious with stopping distance but as far as getting traction to get going I have had no issues at all with my truck. My wives car is another story, we cannot get it out of the garage. :)

I just got back from the Wal-mart and Safeway at Lougheed mall, and you are right. It was nice to shop with less than 5 people in the store. The down side, was both Safeway and Wal-mart was sold out on a lot of stuff. Anything that was left, was the stuff people passed on. Broken boxes, about to expire, or stuff that was just way over priced.

danned 01-03-2009 10:39 PM

I thought transit would be prepared for this by now since this wasn't the first snow we got for this winter.

lilaznviper 01-03-2009 11:10 PM

squamish has had a non stop snow storm since 5am. It picked up at 7am and has been steady since then, with no sights of slowing down.

driving is so much more fun with a broken t-case

Liquid_o2 01-03-2009 11:50 PM

Supposed to start raining overnight/early morning as the temperature warms up. 5 degrees and rain tomorrow. My mom starts work at 9:30am and I'm the only one with winter tires so it looks like I'm waking up early :(

Gh0stRider 01-04-2009 12:26 AM

i better clear the snow off my car port before it collapses.

large tree branch already broke and landed on my front lawn.
