It may be a residential street, but it's also the last complex on a cul-de-sac. 99%, the only people who park at this end of the street are complex residents. This is one who obviously couldn't be bothered to shovel out his own parking space or garage (as everyone unit has at least one assigned parking space, AND some have garages), and figured it would just be easier to take the space someone else worked for hours to keep clear over the past three weeks (actually, come to think of it, it seems to me this person DOES have a garage, so my tolerance goes even lower). We're not talking just random people minding their own business here, see... this is the same complex where three out of 20 townhouses facing the street had their sidewalks shoveled AT ALL in the past three weeks, despite city bylaws, strata bylaws, and insurance ALL requiring it be done. I have no sympathy for the lazy fucks that live here. BTW, that silver X-Trail in the background is the one that repeatedly parked in the space I cleared to the street drain, to prevent the entire street from turning into a lake when everything was melting last week... he's the reason I had to build a giant snow mound blocking the area. I'm sure he also got his feet pretty wet the first time he did it, and I dumped snow back onto the drain to block it up and create a 3"-deep lake under his truck. |

The 129 bus that goes up Patterson Ave was stuck. The bus driver just parked his bus there and turned on the hazards. Caused a huge clusterfuck for traffic going up and down Patterson  |
It took approximately an hour to get from Russ baker way (across the airport) to 70th and Granville st. When we finally made it on arthur laing bridge, it was a jack knifed translink bus that was blocking the bridge (one of those long busses with that thing that swivels in the middle). |

I mean, technically when you dig out a parking spot on the road, it's no more a reserved spot for you now than any other time of the year. Everyone has the right to park in it, even if you don't like it. You could take steps to prevent people from parking in it, or at least to give indication that you spent a lot of time and effort making that spot and don't want anyone else to use it by placing items like chairs or buckets in it when you leave. Technically you don't have a right to do that, but tons of people are doing it, at least around Vancouver anyway. Quote:

But I also don't think I could ever condone screwing around with someone else's car/truck. A note does the trick. Or take up your grievances with the strata. Even better, join the strata. |
haha, today when i was driving down kingsway. i saw some subaru wrx with decals on side just hauling ass through the snow weaving in and out of traffic. wish i had a subaru now =/ |

I was at the Foggy Dew watching the Canucks game. Drove home to Surrey and it was an absolute mess. Port Mann was scary as shit, everyone driving 30km/hr because it was so slippery. I didn't see one plow or salt truck my entire drive home. |

I know for me, I parked by car underground at 4pm. It was raining. Came out at 530pm and there was snow everywhere. Lucky I had snow tires, otherwise I'd have been in a bit of trouble myself. |

I think it's at the intersection of Gaglardi Way and Bby Mtn Parkway, looking north on Gaglardi Way (towards the right hand curve that takes you past the football field and to the main entrance). Occasionally the camera will pan to the right, and there's a large snowplow that looks like it broke down. That's why the security truck is there. |
