I thought I'd be smart and take my garbage to work and toss it in our dumpster.....It looks like the people that live around here had the same idea fucking thing is near full.

The roads are totally fine, at least all the main ones anyway.

Edit: I should add you need to be a bit cautious for a few icy spots but generally there good.

Soundy 01-02-2009 09:43 AM

My boss said they got TEN INCHES of new snow out at his place in NE Maple Ridge (Whonnock Lake), and it was still coming down at an inch or two *per hour*.

LemonH2O 01-02-2009 09:51 AM

Apparently majority of the lower mainland should expect like another 5cm overnight tonight/tomorrow, then RAIN sunday...whoopie, sounds like excellant driving conditions again

Yeah, apparently the eastern fraser valley is just getting raped this morning. I heard on the radio this morning when I woke up, that hwy 1 past 264th (heading east) is a nightmare, with trucks/cars ending up in the ditch :(

lilaznviper 01-02-2009 11:37 AM

black ice and frozen slush....

I was planning to go snowboarding, but it's unsafe with 3 season tires on

lilaznviper 01-02-2009 04:49 PM

damn ppl have to learn to drive
got cut off by a guy in a civic with his N turn side ways on kingsway cuz traffic was backed up in the right lane. so close to hiting him
then coming home some guy decides to turn left but stops in the middle of the road and blocked traffic. didnt see the guy cuz he didnt eve nhave his lights on

my all season tires are about to fail too much ice trying to get out of my street

Alatar 01-02-2009 05:01 PM

I've stalled my car out a few times trying to get over the ice. I have traction, but it's hard to feel the proper amount of clutch/gas to get up and over some of the taller areas when you park.

I haven't had any trouble with traction on the ice/snow yet though.

roastpuff 01-02-2009 07:46 PM

I want to drive my family's new CSX! Parents have told the dealership to hold the car for us as there is still a lot of snow/ice in our neighbourhood, and they don't want to scrape the bottom off of the relatively low CSX (when compared to our Odyssey).

Grrrr.

The snow is short lived because I heard on the news that a huge storm is rolling in on Sunday which is going to bring heavy rain.
