It's not so funny when some jackass (usually in some riced up Honda) riding on summers in wet snow crashes into some barrier and ties up traffic for 2h.

snowing with water now

jing 02-01-2009 11:38 PM

Drive as slow as you want, just GTFO of the left lane.

danned 02-02-2009 10:23 PM

............hhahahha

Gachinto 02-04-2009 09:20 AM

I moved from HIGHEST POINT ON WW to Dayanee Spring.
NO MORE SNOW PROBLEM!
I would still drive up there occasionally for fun. :D

SumAznGuy 02-04-2009 11:31 AM

There might be some snow on higher elevations this weekend.
There is still lots of snow on the side of the roads up on SFU, and then that shit melts in the day and freezes at night. Makes for a dangerous drive late at night and early in the morning when I go to work.

pandalove 02-04-2009 12:53 PM

its snowing on tuesday

Harvey Specter 02-05-2009 12:02 AM

I bet someone will bump this thread in the summer and predict a snow storm in Dec.

Na if you look at http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/CABC0284 They give a 7 day forcast rather than the 5 day you get on the goverment site. The last time I looked they were calling for up to 10 cms of Snow on Tuesday.

SumAznGuy 02-05-2009 08:51 AM

Only down side is the weather network is not that reliable. I find the government site a lot more accurate.

Really none of them are that accurate, I check 3 sites, the weather network, the goverment and the weahter underground site. Then compare and adjust for my exact location. Between the 3 averaged its usually pretty close. THe part of Surrey I live in. Fraser Heights usually gets about 3x the snow that Vancouver gets. (Snow is still over 40cms deep in my yard) If ya don't belive me I'll take pics to prove it.

^ last time 've been to fraser height area, there was still about 3-5cm of snow on the ground

murd0c 02-05-2009 09:50 AM

There still is 3-4" of snow down certin roads in fraser heights and guildford

I look at the Vancouver section, and find that the government site will post something and is pretty accurate, even 4 or 5 days in advance. With the weather network, they can post it, then change it 2 or 3 times in a day and still be wrong when it is a few days away. Their 7 day forecast is just horrible, and don't get me started on their 14 day forcast.

CaptFiero 02-05-2009 11:14 AM

I'll go and grab the camera, but here is a pic from last week. Very little of this has melted. Only stuff that melted was the thin layer areas on the car.

my back alley is one of them :D

CaptFiero 02-05-2009 01:00 PM

Ok here are the pics. These were taken as of 2pm Feb 5th
For the most part, the only melted area's are because we had shoveled it or salted it. The main alley the 3 houses that use it, all chipped in and paid to have plowed as the city won't do our alley way.

Weather forecast in our neck of the woods is next to impossible to predict. I have a friend who used to be a meteorologist and he says we are in the worst part of the planet for predicting weather. The jet streams that crisscross and the other factors like ocean currents, tides, localized pressure changes, moisture, etc. make it impossible to predict accurately more than 12 hours ahead. Major patterns are OK, but even then, when and for how long it stays that way is a problem. We live in a rainforest-type environment, so how much latent heat and moisture is in the ground, for example, can never be measured accurately. I probably explained it all wrong, but he went into some great detail as to why we live in such an unpredictable climate (kinda like our sports teams, LOL).

Sorry for the intrusion........... carry on.

SumAznGuy 02-08-2009 11:50 PM

Wet snow is coming down up on SFU. Not sticking at the moment.

Harvey Specter 02-09-2009 01:00 AM

Holy shit, crazy amount of hail like snow falling in my area right now.

littledog 02-09-2009 01:03 AM

The roads turned white already!

HonestTea 02-09-2009 02:05 AM

LOTS of hail just fell and now everything outside is basically white..haha

stopped after like 5minutes though!

Gachinto 02-09-2009 03:24 PM

Wow I've only moved for a week or so, but I already feel so distanced from the snow hell I was once in.
