Neva 05-10-2011 11:09 AM

for anyone interested

http://www.clove.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-i9100-16gb

puts it at about ~860 + shipping

not too bad compare to iphone prices/to have it now

!MiKrofT 05-10-2011 12:19 PM

That's still at least more than $200 on top of iPhone 4 prices. But if someone's will to spend over $900 on a phone....

Neva 05-10-2011 01:48 PM

But ur getting more than an iPhone. Plusfull HD video recording that rivals dedicated camcorders

but still pricy by all means

If I were to purchase one of these in Korea could I bring it back here and use it on Rogers?

i wonder how many people are going to try that and brick their $900 phone
cool video..but fail for not mentioning how much battery life is affected.

Gerbs 05-13-2011 05:46 PM

How bad is the battery life, i might get the phone as my plan is almost finished.

m3thods 05-13-2011 08:02 PM

It's hard to guage because it's such a powerful phone, and it's not available here.

If I were to guess, it'll last you a day easy. Also, it depends how you use the thing.

twitchyzero 05-14-2011 10:38 AM

i read one review said that it was good for almost two days of moderate usage.

iam_dan 05-14-2011 03:06 PM

ive read almost a day and a half, after a couple days of conditioning the battery

ime2006 05-14-2011 11:56 PM

All i care is ~ When will Rogers carry this phone........................................????? ?????

bcedhk 05-15-2011 01:08 AM

you get around 1 1/2 days of battery life on it. Im in korea and the galaxy 2 is becoming as common as seeing iphone 4's!

using google currency converter, the purchase price in korea comes to 755CAD.

here its 2 year specific plan contract, a 55$ plan will make the phone about 220$ CAD. and you pay it monthly so 10$ more every month to pay off the hardware.

fuckkkk im on the waitlist, suppose to come friday.

and samsung has bad customer support overseas, but in korea i think its pretty good. already a couple updates were released.

and im guessing the battery life will be better over there since it prbbly wont have NFC and DMB feature.

Gerbs 05-15-2011 11:50 PM

I guess this shall be my new phone :fuckyea:

But does anyone know the price for rogers and bell, and when it going ot be released?

m3thods 05-16-2011 08:47 AM

Nothing has been released for Canada, and very minimal information has been released for the US. By minimal I mean only their names have been released, and a silicone case which will be shared by all 3 carriers in the US.

!MiKrofT 05-16-2011 08:52 AM

Man I wish ppl would stop asking when it's gonna be released. Stated multiple times not till 3rd quarter of this year on rogers.

gdoh 05-16-2011 11:23 AM

its prolly gunna be around 300 for new customers on a 3 year plan

m3thods 05-16-2011 11:40 AM

^Any source? Or just pure speculation?

Does Samsung have any say on how much carriers charge for subsidized phones?

If so, it'd be pretty dangerous for Samsung to allow any carrier to price it that high, considering you can get an iPhone for less than half of that price on the same 3 year plan.

I know it's apples and oranges, but if you offered the average person the two phones at those two prices, I would bet that they would choose the iPhone.

Judging by Samsung's apparent strategy with the original SGS, they want as many people as possible holding a SGS2. It won't happen at that price.

gdoh 05-16-2011 11:52 AM

just speculation

im thinking all in 300$ or a little less for new customers on a 3 year since its supposed to this "super phone" i wana see how this and the iphone 4s compare against each other since my contract is up early 2012

twitchyzero 05-16-2011 01:31 PM

anything over $200 on a 3 yr contract is too much..the majority of the public's going to compare it with the <150 price of getting an ip4...that's why i don't get how they are expecting to sell the arc/play @ 250
