How come you never decided to upgrade to the Nexus S?

when the nexus s came out, i didn't feel that i needed to upgrade my nexus one at that time.

Oh, this is my first android, of course it impresses me, but like I said I have been using an iPhone since they had it. Speed the g2s has it but in the end its a newer phone and we have to see what apple has to offer.

Also that video that compares the speed of both phones is weird... I have never had an iPhone that slow for me and never had the g2s that fast for me...

In the end both are great phones and I will be continuing using both. well all if you count the piece of shit work blackberry torch...

I want to fucking throw it at the wall.

but all in all, I am not dissapointed at the phone, I m just too used to what Apple has to offer for me. The only real issue I had with it is that the brightness its not as strong comparing to a Moto Atrix where the Atrix brightness is 2x as strong. But the color of the s2 RAPES the Atrix.

I am just not used to Android and if they have a better app store + music store it would be completely different.

In the end its a great phone.

On wifi the SG2 is a lot faster than Iphone 4 but on 3G/HSPDA depending on which network you are with the speed varies. My SG2 on Rogers was about 3 secs slower than my friends Iphone 4 on Telus also depending on the location.

I waited 8 months till I upgraded from Nexus One to S. Nexus One is still a decent phone and has a huge backing in the Dev community with roms etc. Still debating on which rom I want to root my SG2 with waiting on Cyanogen.

That doesn't mean the SG2 is faster/slower...all that confirms is that certain networks and certain areas are better/faster than others...

Agreed. To this day I'm still browsing through the various roms and comparing them to other phones on the boards. Nexus One definitely has a lot more updates and advances day to day than most/any of the other phones on XDA.

The only downfalls of the Nexus in my opinion was the screen (there were batches of screens with deep, true colors and then there were batches of them with washed out colors...I got the washed out one twice.) And the battery life was abysmal.

Anybody with the phone buy a 32GB microsd? Any recommendations on which brand for reliability and speed? Sansdisk? Lexar? Kingston?

gomcse2002 07-02-2011 07:51 PM

Will Rogers going to carry Samsung GS2 like Bells or
Virgin?

I am having an issue with the phone where every often my internet comes down completely and once I reset the phone I get it back right away... which doesnt make sense.

Can't be the server because my iphone has no issue and vice versa I switch sim cards still the same issue.

Happens at least 4-5 times a day...

Sir_Loin 07-02-2011 11:14 PM

SG2 plays avi, mkv, wmv ,MPEG4, H.264, H.263, WMV, DivX, Xvid, VC-1 also can handle 720 and 1080P, so glad I don't have to convert to a specific format for the phone to play the video ala Iphone with MPEG4.

My work gives me a credit card for the full store, so free of charge :D

If not just use WinAVI, its a great program and super quick.... I do that and play it on my apple TV and its friggen awesome.

Well it's down to $700 now but those are imported. It'll hit craigslist for less once users start renewing their contracts and selling the phone.

They are quad-band HSDPA, which means 3G (or "4G") on any network here, except the new ones that use the AWS like Wind or Moblicty.

Are you on Belus by any chance?
My friend is complaining about the same thing with his phone, and he's on Bell. I'm on Rogers and don't have any problems with mine.
I wonder if there is a network feature included in the phone that isn't supported by Belus.

My friend is going to wait until the Bell dump is available on XDA and flash that. In the meantime, if you flash the KE4 modem, it appears to happen less frequently.

Gh0stRider 07-03-2011 08:37 PM

No term pricing is set at $600. Wonder if bell will sell it at no contract price.

Make sure you're absolutely sure before importing. BTW They are around $650 in HK right now if you can get one. They are $615 + shipping if you order from Clove

what is Clove ?

SkinnyPupp 07-03-2011 10:46 PM

Smartphones, Tablets, HTC, Motorola, BlackBerry - from Clove huge phone/smartphone reseller in UK. I've ordered a couple phones from them. One time they gave me the runaround for like 3 weeks as they waited for stock, but overall I would recommend them.

Gh0stRider 07-03-2011 11:29 PM
