if i remember correctly, you are in a park zone and all drivers must give the right of way to cyclist and pedestrians? The mother made poor judgement and could've got her son/daughter injured

XplicitLuder 08-22-2012 07:51 PM

but the cyclist had a stop sign..don't the rules that apply to us apply to them as well ?

I'm sure I have to make way for a pedestrian but a cyclist is a vehicle that must obey the road signs. I go by this every day and the only day I see them actually stop is when a cop is standing by the corner. One time I went through that corner and a cyclist jammed on the front brake so hard he almost did a front flip, would had been cool if he went all the way around.

Only drove for about 30 minutes to get a few things done and already catching people with my DR380

This person did a rolling stop

Merges without signalling

Did you forget to check that I was in your mirror?

asr 08-30-2012 11:02 AM

Another reason why I bought a dash cam. Some of these cyclist & drivers just treat stop sign & red light as nothing. :okay:

I meant, it's almost impossible for me able to find a witness in a quiet side street. Even in Downtown core, people usually don't give a shit about what happen around them.

TypeRNammer 08-30-2012 10:16 PM

So I encountered more shitty drivers while I was in Richmond....

Corolla turns left on the wrong lane and cuts me off!

Merecedes ML swerves into my lane!

2 for 1 deal, Nissan Versa does a U turn and BMW pulls out way too far ahead!

asr 08-30-2012 11:35 PM

^haha, uncle and antie like you.

Question for you guys uploading videos:

1 minute videos mean there are 60 videos for an hour of driving...

Do you come home and sift through all the videos to find the one you want to upload? I'm genuinely curious lol

Yes.

Though it isn't too difficult if you know where you were because the dashcam keeps track of your location as well.

Also the file name are date and time so if you remember what time you can look it up fairly easily.

hi guys
i noticed some of you guys are using dash cameras with speed recording.
arent you worry that if something happend, you need to present the video but at the same time shows that you are speeding?

that is the reason why i bought the DOD GS300 instead of the GS600
first is was cheaper and small NO LCD display.
1080
only difference GPS tracking and speed recording
so far i like it
only downside is night recording is a little snowy

asr 09-01-2012 08:42 PM

^You can always turn the speed off.
If you didn't speed, the other party says you were speeding. Will you still turn the speed off?
Really hard to call.

When I hard wired my BlackVue, I couldn't bring myself to cut the cigarette plug, so I bought a female cigarette end at RP Electronics for like $1.50 ish. I got the kind you solder your own wires to. You can purchase ones with wires already on, but it will cost you more (frugal Asian here). This also eliminated having to deal with the really thin wires of the BlackVue. On top of that, I have the BlackVue connected to my Nav screen. Plus, with the extra mount and plug I bought separately, I move the BlackVue from one vehicle to the other - it's a snap. Gotta love the two black alignment dots on the BlackVue, LOL. Saved me from having to make my own marks.

What, alignment dots? What alignment dots? O.O

I'm guessing he means the screw holes

MG1 09-02-2012 05:25 PM

No, there are two silk screened black dots that line up with the top and bottom edges of the holder. On my truck, since the windshield angle is not sharp, the two dots line up nicely. My commuter car, on the other hand, has uber sharp windshield angle, so I have to twist the BlackVue until the bottom dot disapears under the bottom edge of the holder and then some.

I didn't know about the black dots until one day I got pretty frustrated having to look at Nav to align the BV. I actually had a sharpie marking pen out at the time and was about to draw in my own dots, LOL.

Is it possible to turn the speed off after the fact, or black out the speed after the fact, maybe using some video editing software?

asr 09-02-2012 09:21 PM

^ I guess that you can't.

There's probably an easy way to post-process the video. The location of the speed is static, and blurring that out seems like a basic function of decent editing software.
