Where did you see the package that includes PMP? I just see the cameras in the flyer and on the website, but no PMP. Thanks!

Suprarz666 10-03-2015 07:22 PM

the 2channel comes with the PMP.

I purchased the 1 channel last month from BB and it does not come with the pmp.

ToneCapone 10-03-2015 09:03 PM

oops yeah looks like the PMP is on the 2channel only. You can find it where it says "Whats in the box"

The DR650GW-2CH I purchased from BestBuy.ca arrived today and there was no PMP included.

ilvtofu 10-07-2015 09:59 PM

Same price at blackboxmycar and includes a PMP for sure, at least Best Buy has a good/easy return policy  BlackVue DR650GW-2CH WIFI - BlackboxMyCar

E.D.C.5 10-07-2015 11:01 PM

Aside from what ilvtofu said, you can also collect Best Buy reward points too

If this camera was for me I would've just bought something cheaper like a G1W off Amazon. I don't intend on spending a dime at Blackboxmycar after what happened in 2013 with warranty issues and just how the company got started.

From RFD: DASH CAM: Blackvue DR500GW-HD|*HACKED*|Wifi for Live view/Downloading videos to phone - Page 3 - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

Spoiler!

I've contacted Best Buy and I'm just waiting to hear back about whether or not the PMP is actually included or if it's a typo on their website.

Does your guys camera get fairly hot under normal usage?

xxxrsxxx 10-09-2015 11:53 AM

Just starting to do some research on a good camera. Are there any cameras for $100 or less that includes parking mode capability? And if so, does it need to be hardwired?

You will pretty much always need hardwiring to get parking mode, some cameras have internal batteries and can record without constant power but it's for an hour tops and they tend to be pretty unreliable. If you have a cigarette jack that puts out constant power that could work as well though. My Fiesta didn't start a few weeks back because I have a constant cigarette jack and left my usb charger plugged in :okay:

My old ass blackvue 350 finally died after serving NE quite well for 3 years. Did anyone else's die? How long do Blackboxes last on average ?

Whoa~ Gotta say I'm a little surprised. A lot of the newer cars have 12V jacks that automatically switch off when ignition is turned off -- mine is like that, and I don't particularly enjoy this "feature" since I'd much rather have the choice to leave something plugged in or not -- instead of having it forced upon me.

In relation to a dashcam, this effectively means your dashcam may or may not be able to draw power from the 12V jack.

I run the pvr in my 2015 stingray almost all the time.
For my daily driver Mazda b4000 I have no camera and really see no need for it personally.

I am driving around in a 2016 Focus courtesy car right now, I think its cigarette jack turns off after half an hour. In the 997 it's good for whatever the cigarette jack feels like lol.

I have a 380 in my Miata that's >3 years old now, then again I don't really drive that car. I know some models you can send for out of warranty repair that's not that much money. Not sure how old they can go but I know my friend got his OOW DR500 repaired for a reasonable price.

hi-revs 10-09-2015 07:08 PM

Quick question. I've got the blackvue dr650 1ch.
Is the wifi option really only supposed to work while I'm in the car to check footages?
Because the range isn't good at all with the wifi. Like I can't view the "live shot" on my phone while dining in a restaurant.

MTV Cribs 10-09-2015 07:14 PM

Yes because it's mainly used for adjusting the view of the camera. I guess you can get a crazy wifi extender or router and install that into your car :troll:

The Blackvue App and the Wifi connectivity on these cameras suck. Like MTV Cribs mentioned, it's great for adjusting the camera and that's about it. If I want to look at or save my footage I just take the micro sd card out and pop it into my computer.

godwin 10-10-2015 11:53 AM

I like the Dome G98C camera It is under $80 but has a metal body, so it cools much better than other cameras. For park mode, just add a USB external battery pack.. will last much longer than those built in ones anyways.

Most multi channels cannot handle the resolution the A7 can get anyways for 170 degree view.. so if you want 2 channels it is cheap enough to just get 2.

ilvtofu 10-23-2015 10:48 AM

Haha not local but man... stay classy florida

AstulzerRZD 12-16-2015 07:33 PM

Since we're coming up to the Christmas season, any recommended good value cams?

underscore 12-23-2015 01:32 PM

Any suggestions for good cameras right now? I need to buy at least 2 single cams and probably 1 double (front/rear)

TOPEC 12-23-2015 02:53 PM

go with the more well known brands like blackbue and finevu. they are a bit more costly but ive had a blackvue ever since and its been going strong. i just recently got the bluevue 2ch camera to replace my old still working 1 ch.

checkout Dash Cam | Car Dash Cameras | DashCams | BlackboxMyCar the dudes local

sometimes massdrop will have groupbuys for the blackvue quite often but seeing the current USD VS CAD right now it might not be worth it to buy in the US

viet604778 12-23-2015 05:23 PM

Wait for boxing day from our sponsors to get a dashcam maybe? They usually have blackvue's on sale.

boibuddha 12-23-2015 05:39 PM

Not sure if I would recommend going with the expensive dash cams. From reading around, it seems like cameras tend to fog up after roughly 1.5 years regardless of manufacturer.

Cleaning the lens may be an option but it didn't make a difference in my case (midrange dash camera). The camera still works like it is supposed to (identify make, model and color) but I can't read plates like when it was new due to my perma-fogged lens.

The premium price seems to be more for a smaller form factor, 2 channel setup and/or wifi viewing (again to reduce form factor by eliminating the screen)
