So looks like I'll be stuck in Costa Mesa/Irvine for a week. Is there anything to do there?

I've been to Huntington Beach and Newport, should I just take an uber down there every evening?

Huntington Beach is Surf City. One of my American cousins lives there with her hubby and kids. She says that there are plenty of parks in the area to visit.

As for Newport, if you're interested in looking at marine life, there are whale watching tours.

Hondaracer 07-16-2025 10:23 AM

Used to have a friend who had a place in Laguna beach, it was nice if you’ve never been

CivicBlues 07-16-2025 10:30 AM

Yeah I've been to the 3 OC beaches (Huntington, Newport, Laguna was the nicest) way back in 2010 I'm sure a bit has changed.

Probably not much time to do much sightseeing maybe just walk around in the evening? Any good eats?

I guess nothing near the OC airport? Just blocks and blocks of office parks it seems

mikemhg 07-16-2025 10:39 AM

Whew that Weeknd concert last night was quite the show, they had the roof open at BC Place the whole night, it was hotter than fucking hell on the floor.

I felt old as hell.

I didn't realize he had so many young slooty dressed fans, we were fully on creeper mode FeelsGoodMan :lol

Hondaracer 07-16-2025 10:40 AM

I can’t remember specifics but every place we ate at was great

Looking at google maps I can’t remember the specific area but I’m assuming it was all on this promenade on forest?

Feel like there was this stereotypical like “Joes seafood shack” or somthing we went back to a couple times because it was so good b it now I can’t seem to find it lol

Good help I am lol

Depending on when you are going, the OC Fair is starting in a day or two (OCFair.com) If time permits, maybe check out Newport Beach? Not the end of the world if you don't. Otherwise, not much to do in that area. You'll have to venture out.

Or maybe get yourself an American education at the University of California, Irvine. :derp:

If you're with friends or family renting a Duffy boat (or similar) and cruising around is pretty nice (https://www.duffyboats.com/rent-newport-beach/).

Irvine is like koreatown of orange county, lots of good korean restaurants.
Best to have a car if you wanna go explore newport beach. The balboa peninsula is pretty neat and has a pier and also a ferry to go back to the mainland without driving all the way out. Fashion Island if you like high end mall.

Venture out to Cafe Lu in Santa Ana. :troll:

The Triennial Northwest Deuce Days is in Victoria is this weekend. 1300+ cars from all over US and Canada, they basically shut down all the roads around the inner harbour. It's quite the spectacle.

My wife and I went to see the Weeknd the other day. Lots of GenZ had tickets and since I don't see a lot of GenZ in my day to day, here are a few observations:

- They seem afraid to talk to people and ask questions. I've never seen so many people be in the wrong seat in a stadium before. There were two young women in our seats and we told them that. They retorted that there were two other people in their seats. My wife told them that that's not our problem and told them to move. We probably saw like 5-6 groups of people in wrong seats in the 2-3 rows around us.
- Lots of women were dressed to draw attention, to put it mildly. I get it - it's a concert. But there were lots of them in groups and no groups of guys chatting them up in the concourse, in the lines, etc. Not a lot of young couples or at the very least, young male orbiters. Most of the couples we saw were boomer milllennials, like us.
- Lots of GenZ were eager to capture photos and videos, but I didn't really get the sense that they were actually having a good time, which was sad to see. I didn't really see a lot of joy in faces, if you know what I mean.

The concert was great though and I got to spend time with my wife.

Work with a few gen z straight out of school, none of them can hold a conversation.

Has anyone ever applied PPF themselves? I’m looking at these sheets on Amazon my sunroof gets a shit load of gunk and dirt built up inside the track from sitting under trees and I’m debating just PPF’ing over the sunroof to keep it sealed

If I buy a sheet that will cover it is it easy enough to apply?

whitev70r 07-17-2025 06:46 AM

Applying PPF to sunroof is prob 100x easier than REMOVING racing stripes from a car. You got this. If not, visit youtube.

Yes, I gave up LOL. You need a heat gun and we had a hair dryer in an underground garage. Could not get it to work. We either stretched it too much or not enough or at the wrong places.

Color wrap is a lot easier as the vinyl is thinner and easier to stretch right.

Hondaracer 07-17-2025 07:16 AM

I’ve got a heat gun.. doesn’t need to be the best vinyl I just need it covered and not blow off while driving lol..

Guess I’ll watch some YouTube videos lots of rolls of varying sizes on amazon that come with the squeegee etc.

Ahhh yes gen z....

So i too have an interesting story about these young whipper snappers.

My buddy at work is a horn dog. He has like 3 ex wives and a basket of kids or something. But since we are all grossly overpaid, he can afford an interesting lifestyle.

Anyways, a couple of years ago they sent this gen z intern to him for a couple of months. GORGEOUS. blonde, big ass, big tits, dumb as a fucking post. He tried FOREVER.. LIKE FUCKING FOREVER to bone her. no luck. He showered her with gifts, basically gave her no work, and took her to all the industry events.. nope nada...

She finished her internship, he was super sad, and she went on to something else.
A few months ago, he teams me this pic and BOOM. there she was on Leolist. LIKE FUCKING thats her for sure. He used a burner phone, called her up and had her meet him at his house.

This hoe shows up, bitched him out and called him a stalker, AND THEN REFUSED to do him.

WHAT SORT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS!?!?!?!

He was FURIOUS !!!! im pretty sure he wanted to choke her out.

Moral of the story: Gen Z's are the worst. A whore with standards is right up there with Hitler.

unit 07-17-2025 07:27 AM

that's not surprising to me that escorts would not want to bang people they know from their normal life

BIC_BAWS 07-17-2025 07:29 AM

Uhhhh I think your coworker will probably get sued for workplace harassment tbh. It's not that she didn't know about his advances .. it's more likely she was ignoring it (and collecting evidence if she's smart and wants a payday)

Speaking of harassment, a lot of GenZ/younger Millennial men (myself included) won't approach someone in fear of being called a creep or worse - cancelled. Yes, you read that right. These whores will dress like one, without a bra and all, and if someone were to approach them they'll say smt about how they don't dress for the male gaze / just cause they wear smt doesn't mean they want attention ("asking for it" = rapey). Seeing how easy shit spreads like wildfire and how no one fact checks, it's way too damn risky. I know about 3-4 people that were falsely accused in a rape or harassment claim and got their lives ruined. Good people.

Badhobz 07-17-2025 07:48 AM

thats also probably why i see a lot of gen z guys being so timid when it comes to women. They are already lacking the social skills thanks to all this technology crap, now you add the risk of getting cancelled or called out by these whores and you might as well go fuck dudes.

I mean, honestly, the problem is with handling rejection at that point isn’t it?

Cuz they’re kinda doing you a favour, I’d be pleased as punch if I approached some girl in my younger years and she showed her crazy to me right off the bat so I could take a fuckin walk the other way before investing anything in her and THEN finding out she’s psych ward eligible.

I mean, it’s nothing personal to get rejected and it’s their problem if they can’t handle a simple mating interaction lol
