major update in sports club

sonick 01-05-2011 06:37 PM

Just went by for a quick round the Sports Central... not too bad, clientele didn't seem especially douchey, lots of equipment and space, weights weren't on the ground. Might give it a shot!

Jer3 01-05-2011 06:39 PM

i caved and bought the 1 year. good to hear there aren't a lot of douches. now i pray there aren't hongers looking at themselves in the mirror while doing wrist curls in the squat rack.

Not really racist! 01-05-2011 06:40 PM

I'd give it a shot.. but its in RMD isn't it? FUU

sonick 01-05-2011 06:40 PM

StealthFighter 01-05-2011 09:38 PM

RRxtar 01-05-2011 09:55 PM

god damnit change your avatar my penis cant take this abuse

JSilver 01-05-2011 10:57 PM

I talked to a friend who goes to Sports Central. Pretty much said what you've described StealthFighter. Large gym, open space, lots of machines, etc.

Another friend told me the gym is also quite dead because a lot of people have transferred over to other gyms such as Golds, Steve Nash Sports Gym and newly equipped Steve Nash Fitness Worlds.

I bought the coupon. $100/yr?! Why not.

Curious, do they have all Hammer Strength equipment as the picture you've posted?

I went at 7pm, guesstimate there were about 20 to two dozen or so in the weight area?

Hope this deal doesn't pack the gym with beat-listening dbags lol.

They also advertising the Sportscentral deal pretty frequently on the Team 1040 and 1410 too, so I would expect the gym to get busier. But for about $8 a month, you really can't complain.

I'd say the only risk is Sportscentral shutting down, they seem to have been losing a lot of clientele to Nash and Golds, so that's probably why they pushing this $99 deal hard. Same thing happened recently to Pantheon downtown, lost a lot of clients to Nash and just shut down their doors overnight, people that prepaid where out of luck.

hal0g0dv2 01-06-2011 04:50 PM

EPIC CHEST DAY TODAY NIGAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

BrRsn 01-06-2011 05:16 PM

Fuck I wanna do the $100 sports central thing got a few of my friends from fitness world to switch over, but I cannot escape the beast that is fitness world, fuckers have a tight hold on my bank account.

What should I do to get out? I think I'll have to pay something like $15 for every month remaining in my 2 year contract (so another 8 months?)

Should I buy the sports central membership tomorrow? I pay friggen $40 a month for a shit gym that's a 20 minute drive away from my house, whereas sports central is a 6 minute drive (I live on the other side of knight street bridge) .... i think i should just man-up and switch.

EDIT: I bought it.

DC5-S 01-06-2011 07:35 PM

The_AK 01-06-2011 07:51 PM
