Now I'm sorta curious... lol

If you are calling him big in the before pic gotta wonder how he looks now with 60+ lbs

penner2k 04-15-2010 12:24 AM

I had major carb cravings today. I was fighting not to goto Burger King for Whopper Wednesday.. I went grocery shopping and bought a coke zero and a couple packs of sugar free jello... Feel fine now.
Only 4 days till my carb up. Then another 2 weeks till the next. Depending how things are coming along at that point I might start to add a carb meal before and after my "heavy" day during the week.

Hey guys, I need some help finding an exercise plan...

I am trying to do the following:
- lose weight
- faster explosiveness + higher vert
- stronger core
- tone arms

Some friends suggested Air Alert for explosiveness and vertical, higher rep curls and lots of running and biking.

I am around 5'7 or 8, 180 +- for water weight. Trying to get down to around 165-170. I stopped working out because I have no time since exams are coming up but I plan to go a lot after its all over + during the summer as well. Last time I was at the gym I curled at 35's and benched max at 140 (yea pretty weak). Vertical, I can slap the backboard but I want to get it higher so I can grab the rim hopefully? And I also plan on starting muai thai after my exams as well.

As for diet, I just started eating lots of veggie's for lunch, and for dinner I usually have jasmine red rice + veggies + random chinese dishes.... I am also cutting down my sugar intake too. Does anyone else have any suggestions? I know I should be doing low sugar, low protein diet's since I am not bulking up... But I am kind of noob :P

Anyways, any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Well to start off the idea of low protein is not very good. Even if you arent trying to gain you should always keep protein high. Also if you are gonna be playing a lot of basketball I'm not sure low sugar is the best answer since you will get gased. I would stick with a nice even split of protein to fat to carb ratio.

For training look into this site...

Shoulders are the hardest muscle group to move up and get size also , there are ways around that tho , pin press , fAce pulls restart latterl raises, every shoulder is diff for me but pin press and millitay always

You probably need to change up your routine bro

penner2k 04-15-2010 08:28 PM

What I found worked well was to do strict military press till you cant get it up anymore... Then drive with your legs to get a couple more reps out.

hal0g0dv2 04-15-2010 08:44 PM

Standing mill press is good also with dunbells not bars all the time , reverse pec deck for upper traps and rear delts , there is a sick shoulder workout I'll post up when I get home

When you do this do you have your elbow resting on the pad with your arm in an L shape? or with your forearm parallel with the ground?
