i get my coconut oil from whole foods. the only other store i got it from was save on and it cost more for a smaller jar.

the one i get from whole foods is 'ORPHEE' brand... organic virgin cold pressed... i think it cost about $11-13 for a 454g jar. if anyone knows of a cheaper source (not online) please post.

nvm//

i get it from whole foods too...but it's expensive

i was in the uk last year and their coconut oil was half the price of what it is here (yes, after the exchange)
i thought it was weird since everything else there is hella expensive..

You can buy coconut oil at health food stores and 'whole' food stores like Galloways (I think that's what it's called anyway). It should be pretty cheap, not much more than the garbage oils they sell at grocery stores.

And that coconut milk that you cook with is the same stuff you drink. It won't taste very good straight, but that's the stuff you want to add to your diet. It's absolutely delicious in protein shakes.

thanks spup! gonna start adding that to my protein shakes.

Took the advice and started going on the whole PnJ sandwich train. They taste so amazing.

my first post in this thread..

just a couple questions, looking to start seriously hitting the gym
im almost 17, pretty lanky, 5'9 @ 135 pounds, only exercise i do now is running which i do almost daily.

just wondering what the easiest way is to start, i was considering ripple toe's starting strength cause i consider myself pretty weak, also, wheres a good place to get some on whey for relatively cheap locally?

lastly, has anybody been to maximum core cardio studio on hastings and cassiar? if so, how is it, i'm considering going there cuz i live close to there

what's your diet look like right now? you should tweak this first and foremost

starting strength or 5x5 would be a good start

you can get a 5lb tub of whey at costco for $40 and there's always decent promos going on at popeyes
there may be significant increases in whey prices coming in the near future so if you are going to buy whey, but up as much of it as your willing to shell out... pretty long shelf life on it anyways

incubus 05-22-2010 05:48 PM

popeyes is pretty pricey

try online or xfuel/svncanada

mc25 05-22-2010 07:32 PM

hey guys, does anyone know where to find wrist wraps in the vancouver area?

I did one rep max 315lbs on bench and my wrist is sore as fuck now.

mc25 05-23-2010 05:37 PM

How would wrist straps help you doing bench press?

JACKED 05-23-2010 05:38 PM

What do you guys do for your back? my lats are seriously lagging and dont seem to have grown at all in the past 3 months

He said wraps not straps

I believe places like Reflex and Popeyes sell wraps, but if you really want good ones and longer than 12" you're better off ordering from places like inzer or elite fts

rows to belly button
variety of pull ups
deads
lat pull down
what you have done is prob done the same back workout for 3 months and your muscles are getting use to it, try some new stuff

penner2k 05-24-2010 01:19 AM

I know this might piss some people off but my back has really started to grow ever since I stopped doing pull ups and just started to do pull downs..

I do dumbbell rows, wide grip pull ups and deads and sometimes switch up the db rows for seated rows. I find if I don't deads and switch them up for something else my lats won't be sore the next day. Deads are irreplaceable IMO.

RRxtar 05-24-2010 03:36 PM

split up on various days of the week:

dumbell rows
seated cable rows
seated chest supported wide grip Tbar rows
wide grip lat pull down
3/4 wide paralell grip pull down with more lean than regular pull down (love! hits upper outer back real good)
deadlifts
reverse cable flys sometimes
chin ups all the time between sets of stuff

probably because your body has adapted to the pull ups

and keep in mind theres so many variations of a pull up...direction your palms are facing, width of grip etc:)

L0uie69 05-24-2010 04:54 PM
