I do. If you aren't making gains whether its strength or volume wise you are running yourself in circles. You can't expect to break PR's every day. But even on those days where you can't lift heavy, aim for more sets or reps. Progressive overload 101.

This. And anyone who says they remember it and write it down when they get home is either full of shit, or has a REALLY fucken good memory. Because personally I forget as soon as the set is done, so I have to write that shit down between every set.

I would never know where I am at if I didn't keep really good records of everything

i used to bench 2 plates during strength training haha my current one now that im in hypertrophy is like 185 for 3 reps or so , but thats on my last set im pretty burnt. and i was terrible at DB's, it would feel awkward on my shoudlers so it would be a struggle to even do 55's DB for it lol you have no idea how much i progressed :D

on a better note i hit 2 PR's

DB bench press went like this :

60 x 10
65 x 8
70 x 6
75 x 5 <- PR with no spotter :D

and i did 5miles cycling in 15mins with no rest period, thats an accomplishment for me at like 280lbs! lol maybe even more =/
