will doing core work help strengthen your abs & lower back when doing military press? im struggling to increase the weight because it feels like my lower back is gonna snap in half, i do squeeze my glutes etc during

if so any core exercise recommondations?

How much are you pressing? If it's not super heavy it might just be a technique thing. Try bringing your elbows more forward so you can balance the weight without having to hyperextend your lower back by leaning back excessively.

It means you're leaning back too much if your lower back comes into play.

i ended up not getting any and going with the animal shirt instead cus they didn't have the design that i wanted

wow i have been doing these wrong the entire time, i keep my knees locked, heels together, same grip as a bench press, and arms at same angle that you would do a seated dumbbell press, no wonder i've been struggling, thanks for the reply

120 at 160 body weight but i realize my form has been bad the entire time, next session going to lower the weight and use proper form, thanks for the reply

How do you guys warm up for a 1RM attempt? Gonna do a 1rm attempt on Friday then Im off to Vegas for a whole week on Mon.

Keep the reps low on your warm up sets. Maybe 5 reps for the lightest sets. Then triples for the middle sets. And just singles for the last couple sets before your max.

Weight wise, for bench press I jump about 20-25lbs per set, 35 for squats and 40-50 for deadlift.

Eg. testing a bench max might go something like:
135 x 5
155 x 5
185 x 3
205 x 3
225 x 3
250 x 1
275 x 1
295 x 1
