GG 09-14-2012 02:17 PM

dude i dont know why u guys even bother signing up with rogers anymore

its fucking gay

so today i tried to do hardware upgrade 2 years with them 1 more year left

the old rule was u just sign/extend the contract for another x amount of years

ya well now say for me i have one more year to go, $15 a month x 12 came out to be $160

so i gotta pay $160 for the remaining month, sign new contract plus activation fee

so i will end up paying like $400 bux"? thats fucking retarded

shawnly1000 09-14-2012 02:25 PM

Depending on how many months you have left for your term and how you play it with Retentions, you can get them cut the early HUP by half or more :fullofwin:
Head over to RFD forums to see what people have been able to work out.

I went to the apple store to ask about the iphone5 since I was considering lining up instead of waiting till Oct 9 and they said they just got a memo that they won't be selling unlocked ones on launch day. Only carrier locked ones. I think they might be lying but if this is the new rules now, then that's going to suck. :suspicious:

Edit: I didn't see rk604 post until after I posted this

the other batch i ordered was using "guest" account using another CC.
those havent even been processed. i cant even access it. it just says "error, check later" haha...

Ulic Qel-Droma 09-14-2012 02:44 PM

that's awesome. drive the price up.

bidding starts at 1000 bux. hahaha...

anyone else have this problem?

im getting emails that "ACTION IS REQUIRED" (payment), but when i log in, its still processing and doesnt give me an option to satisfy the action required.

also some orders, when i click on it, it just says

"we're sorry. Something went wrong with your request. Please try again later."

yeah, i guess im retarded. but whatever. i dont have enough addresses to use. AND no one would be there to answer the delivery. i got them delivered to a business address. a building where i work.

DanHibiki 09-14-2012 02:50 PM

^and some of them got cancelled because they realize it was the same address?

I did 2 orders to the same address. Okay so far...

Harvey Specter 09-14-2012 02:52 PM

Just wonder but why would people pay premium prices if you can order one from Apple and wait 2 weeks?

i understand the ones that got cancelled. they specifically email you and tell you which ones get cancelled for what reason.

but what about the ones that are still:

"We’ve received your order"

they aren't even "processing"

and the other orders can't even view... just error.

i read online some people already have "preparing for shipment"

I had that same issue and told them I'm going to switch to Bell and after a bit of complaing I had it waved 100% :fullofwin:

Nope

Mobile phone reviews, news | TechRadar

During the iPhone 5 keynote yesterday Phil Schiller, Apple's senior VP of worldwide marketing, had this to say about the new handset: "It's the thinnest and lightest iPhone we've ever made, and best of all, it's the world's thinnest smartphone."

Hondaracer 09-14-2012 03:08 PM

So are people calling Rogers Retentions for upgrades via phone?

rk604 09-14-2012 03:10 PM

Keep in mind that people who ordered last night had the estimate of "Delivers/Ships Sept 21-25", whereas if you order now its "Ships 2 Weeks"...gotta calculate shipping times, which usually is 5-7 business days.

So really, if you order now, it's going to take around 3 weeks for you to receive

LanEvoMR 09-14-2012 03:10 PM

Is it better just to preorder from futureshop or bestbuy? Would they guarantee getting the phone on launch day?

you should probably ask them...i doubt any store is gonna be able to guarantee that you'll get it on launch day.

In the past they timed deliveries so that it coincided or close to launch day if you ordered earlier enough.

Harvey Specter 09-14-2012 04:05 PM

Wth, I just dropped from 131 to 120 on the Fido waiting list. I assume people might be cancelling to get the 32/64gb phones which Fido just released.

Cassijon 09-14-2012 04:16 PM

nice. just dropped from 619 to 611 with rogers. doubt that will make a diff tho lol
