I'd be thrilled to see a Macan EV being a $50 - $60k car if it is only 1 - 3 years old.

And how much is a battery replacement :heckno:

Those hilarious taycan bricks so often that dudes can’t even get in their own cars. It doesn’t recognize the fob being present so you can’t even drive it. What a wonderful experience VAG

My mom had a couple of X5, the first one 2005 X5 4.4i was okay... dont get a bmw V8. The second one 2017 35i, I looked for a specific one with no sport package (hate staggered wheels with that monster 315rears), no air suspension, and not too many optional gizmos and it's been rock solid reliable with just basic maintenance and great mpg. Maybe next year with the new klasse X5 coming out they worked out all the kinks.

I honestly have no idea. It's not like the US were really gungho about lock downs or anything either, I would say it's just the US manufacturing just isn't as good. If you've seen Chattanooga VWs you'd think they were made in a fourth world country with rocks as tools.

The early 50e had software issues which would brick the car but those have been solved it seems. I'm not a fan of the staggered setup, but it seems more than half of them are staggered. Air is surprisingly affordable and replacement struts are the same price as regular stuff.

From anecdotal experience, the covid and pre-covid BMW SUVs have the same build quality. The covid-era X5 had missing features though - no soft-close, no powered tail gate, orange-only climate display etc.

I swear anything made past 2020 is pretty subpar for all the brands. Except my ratrolla. Das gud.

i suspect these will become 30-40k cars in another year

Is this US market? I dont think Canada the EQS/Taycan/Macan depreciates as hard.

You’re starting to see this in Canada with Teslas.

I think is just supply and demand.
Way more EVs than buyers in US.
