Yeah but nobody was counting on Kesler banging Schneider's girl. I recall that year they had a chance to trade Kesler as well before his NTC kicked in. Imagine that, we'd get rid of Kesler and Luongo which we did anyways and we'd still have Schneider. But no Horvat likely

I wasn't happy about it then but i'm glad we traded Schneider.

I still hate the fact we traded Luongo. Tortorella was a fucking dick for sitting him at the outdoor game.

he told gillis to move away from the canucks speed and skill model after the loss and told him to follow a bruins type model, which he further re-enforced with eventually hiring benning lol
he pressured gillis into picking a player like Jensen over Saad and benning into a player like jv over ehlers/nylander

it became quite clear it was aqua mans way, or the highway. gillis couldn't do anything about torts, he was pressured to try and create a team a different way than he and his management group wanted. he wanted to rebuild for a speed and skill team, which he pushed to management multiple times, and got fired for that

the day, or couple days before Gillis got fired he was on 1040 saying either we are going to go back to the way i want the team to play, or maybe i wont be around anymore.

Ended up getting fired and with it losing the best GM we ever had.
