and Sbisa has been playing a whole lot better this year then last year. At the end of last year he wasn't playing all that bad either.

You do know +/- is one of those stats that doesn't carry a lot of weight.
Sbisa is a third pair guy who gets the easier match ups at home.
He plays 15 minutes a night while guys like Tanev and Edler gets 22-24 minutes against the other team's top lines as well as PK duty.

The thing that holds him back the most is his contract unless the Vegas team is willing to take on his contract. But using Arizona as an example, the team is better off taking on someone's stupid contract in exchange for draft picks. The Vegas team isn't going to be competitive through the expansion draft. They need to draft well and pick up some free agents or trade with teams looking for a salary dump.

+/- carries a lot of weight in my books. It is a decent indication as to whether you are easy or hard to play against..

Even Brian Burke has called it horse-shit.
With the emergence of advanced stats, plus-minus has become pretty irrelevant and is really just one of those first-glance stats that makes an impact visually but says little to nothing in reality.

I cannot believe this............ after all the years of following the team (pre 70's), I still look forward to watching them. Don't know what is. They suck like a Hoover, but I stlll want to watch.

So apparently, the Evander Kane talks have resurfaced given that the Sabres have been scouting the Utica Comets' games; this according to local media. FFS..

JV for EK.

20 year old for a 25 year old. Benning would say he's building the next core players. Evander fits into our targeted 22-28 group players. Evander can contribute to the team now and win. He's fast, he can shoot. etc etc..

He was a high draft pick at 4th overall. Probably better than the 6th overall JV.

kane is basically what youd hope jv would become, yet id say theres a bit more upside in jv. but he seems to be following kane atm, with the idgaf attitude

They're putting him in that group to showcase Kane's talents. They're actively shopping him around, and the fact that the Canucks responded to the trade rumors proves that he's still on their radar. Let's face it, we like local talent around here, and he's as local as they get.
