That's a fair point, having all your choices be terrible seems to be a growing trend.

can't really fault people for voting PM JT solely on looks if your criticism of a politician is that they're overweight

Maybe it was because the cons where trying to use race politics to try to get elected.

Well, it does slightly beg the question that if he can't take proper care of his own body how well is going to do taking care of a province?

I really didn't need to see Jason Kenny's gut this morning. Thanks for that.

Even ignoring that, his face is eminently punchable. He looks like the kind of guy that would refuse to give up his seat for an elderly person on the bus or ask a waitress for a dozen substitutions for his bacon double cheeseburger for the same price while checking her ass out.

You know....that guy.

Just me, or does it feel like there's some gaslighting going on here?

Influencing the justice system feels a little bit more than an internal disagreement, and getting through a disagreement doesn't usually involve smearing the other person with op-eds and ejecting them??

I don't have the time to follow all the back and forth crap live, has it been wrapped up enough yet for there to be a Coles Notes of the final findings?

I'm starting to think that JWR actually got bounced from MOJ/AG over certain issues relating to the Indigenous Rights framework she was leading that intended to replace the Indian Act.

Some key articles from the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples;

Article 10

Quote:
Indigenous peoples shall not be forcibly removed from their lands or territories. No relocation shall take place without the free, prior and informed consent of the indigenous peoples concerned and after agreement on just and fair compensation and, where possible, with the option of return.
Article 28

Quote:
Indigenous peoples have the right to redress, by means that can include restitution or, when this is not possible, just, fair and equitable compensation, for the lands, territories and resources which they have traditionally owned or otherwise occupied or used, and which have been confiscated, taken, occupied, used or damaged without their free, prior and informed consent.
The UNDRIP generally establishes that without the free, prior, and informed consent of FN people you can't develop anything, it essentially provides the FN with veto power over any sort of development in Canada.

Shockingly, this declaration was adopted by virtually all UN member that don't have any domestic issues with an indigenous population, note the countries that voted against...

Quote:
The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) was adopted by the General Assembly on Thursday, 13 September 2007, by a majority of 144 states in favour, 4 votes against (Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States) and 11 abstentions (Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burundi, Colombia, Georgia, Kenya, Nigeria, Russian Federation, Samoa and Ukraine).
That framework JWR developed was generally written to align with UNDRIP, it would have grossly empowered FN in Canada.

Assuming I'm correct, I must give some credit to our flakey idiotic PM and his cabinet of smug failures for rejecting this sort of legislation.

We really haven't obtained closure, the Libs clammed up and refused to consider any further investigations. Really the only missing piece we have is testimony from JWR on everything that happened from January 7th on after she was bumped from her role as MOJ/AG.

Because that $100 or so a year for the environment is why we are all struggling economically.

Because that $100 or so is just a simplistic view. Real numbers will come when you start seeing cost of everything multiply, when manufacturing, businesses and services pass on there increases onto you, not to mention inflation on top of that. . I believe we have another tax kicking in July. So guessing gas will be around $2 mark by summer driving season. Let's revisit this in 8-12 months when it's not just price increases at pump u r seeing.I'm sure Ur salaries r already keeping up with cost of living

And here is scheer being interviewed by faith goldy who was banned from Facebook and Instagram for organizing hate and making extremist content. They also shared a stage at the yellow vest protests.

FYI: Getting rid of the carbon tax will not reduce the price of gas.
