WTF? Burke prez of Penguins and Hextall the new GM ??!! Scraping the bottom of the used barrell! https://www.tsn.ca/pittsburgh-pengui...dent-1.1590562 |
Both > Dim Jim |
Checks to see if that win last night got Benning fired. Sees half of Vancouver's sports radio market got fired instead. In all seriousness, fuck Bell. Hope they sell their share of ownership of the Leafs and fuck off into the sun. #BellLetsTalk |

I'm kind of sad to see it go but in the same breath although I used to be a regular listener I found the current programming pretty terrible. I feel worse for the people that lost their jobs and source of income then I do for losing the radio station and its mediocre content. |
I recently switched back to 1040 from 650 about a month ago and was really enjoying the switch. Taylor and Moj were always pretty funny and Sekeres and Price provided maybe the best analysis albeit Sekeres seems like a pompous clown. I cannot listen to Rintoule, I don’t know how he still has a permanent gig |
Halford and Brough were by far the most entertaining imo. Hours and hours of lol content from anything related to Hockey, Simpsons, current events and more. Especially during this past year with the pandemic. These two guys helped return a sense of normalcy for me while at work in the hospital. Can't thank them enough for making me laugh on the daily. |

to reset for taxi squad so don't get excited |

Trade benning for tanev |
What were Hughes post game comments? I missed that |
I predict this thread is gonna slow to a crawl similar to the year previous to our amazing 2020 bubble playoff run. It's just so hard to watch us getting clobbered day and day out. Horrible GM decisions and no synergy on team right now. The only decent wins we got were from the actual worst team in the league Senators... |
Sorta kinda off-topic. I'm not quite getting why the whole Bell cancelling the radio shows is being linked to the charity they support? I get the anger that they're cutting a show some people like, employees losing jobs, etc. But why the laser focus on the charity and not just the Business itself? Does one have to do with the other? Like, a business chooses to fire some people so they don't get to support the charity of their choosing? So, people would rather they didn't donate money to the cause... Because people with mental illness don't get to have support? if.... people don't get their radio station? |
I think they are questioning the legitimacy of how much a gigantic corporation like Bell actually cares about mental health when they are willing to fire hundreds, maybe thousands of people by cutting into programming with a pre-recorded message and then sending in private security to escort people off premises with zero warning or communication |
Saw this on reddit, dont know the source. Burke talking about Torts and the canucks/flames line brawl: "The day torts snapped, he was waiting to hear where his son was going to be assigned overseas, an army ranger, getting his first deployment. So I asked "why dont you just be honest with the public about why you were so tightly wound up that day" and he said it was none of their business." |

I hate that it's Boston and Marchand, but this is a pretty sick play: |
|
Please win tonight, boys! Roast those Flames! I don't care if the team is wearing their hideous Chinese New Year "Year of the Ox" jerseys during the game warmup today. :lawl: My guess is that those ugly jerseys sell for at least 250 bucks each because they are "limited edition". Just win the game! |

Basically Hughes said GMJB let too many of the good guys walk away. |
The Official 2020/2021 Canucks & NHL Thread Quote:
Hughes is right. Honestly, Dim Jim could not even run a 7-Eleven properly because he would let go of the best staff in the store. Then he would keep the worst employees so that they screw up the Slurpee machine. :lawl: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

“We have a competitive group. Guys want to win. No one likes losing, including myself. It sucks. We have a lot of new pieces. We lost some pretty good players last year, and we're just trying to figure it all together. And I think that we're going to get there. Tonight, we were pretty close to that. We're right there. I'm worried we lost five in a row but I'm not worried because I'm confident in the group we have. In the long run, we're going to be alright.”..QH It doesn't seem as bad as Friedman makes it, just like his comments about Holtby saying 'Out of sync'. A little bit sensationalist. |
