Good choice, seems to have a lot more personality and honesty than Horvat tbh... I didn't have a big problem with Horvat but I felt like he was just towing a company line all the time and it was grating as the failed to show any heart so many nights.

Perfect choice and even better announcing it now so there is not that distraction during training camp.

lol, I bumped into Edler way back. We were lining up to get into the same restaurant. Trying my best not to make it sound weird, but I googled his wife just to see if the woman beside him was the same person, and since it was, I was able to confirm it was him. lol

Then asked for a pic and he was cool about it. He was injured at that time and had a big walking boot on.

No offense to Quinn, but I shudder at the thought of our media hounding our best defenseman during the first losing streak of the year. Personally I don't think we need to burden our best players with the C.

I think this was a strategic move because of all the rumblings of reuniting the brothers etc lol

Harder to up and leave when you’re the captain of a Canadian franchise. Not to say it won’t happen down the line but if you want to be great, having a C on your sweater is a big part of it

I doubt Petey will sign long term here. It will probably be another short term 3 to 4 year deal similar to Matthews. Enough to take him to UFA and then he will test the open market.

As a player, it's more beneficial to take a short term contract that takes you to 28-29 and then in your prime years sign a front loaded long term contract that carries you until you retire.

^ yah a 8-10 yr one that covers your twilight years into like 35, 36, 37.
