Did we forget that Spencer Martin had a 4.0GAA last year? I dont get it.... people wanted Pearson gone well before he was injured, well now he's gone and we get back a backup goalie who's had a 0.91X Save percentage. It cost a 3rd rounder cause we're over the cap and teams know a move needed to be made. Silovs can get another year in to develop/dominate the AHL and then come up. |
I got no problem getting a backup, but you’re hiring women into positions of power and touting yourself as a forward thinking organization you don’t get a backup goalie who literally was found guilty of punching a woman repeatedly in the face and spitting in her face while pinning her on the ground and then fought all the cops that came to arrest him. Guy is trash. |

dayum  I dunno what their plan is, but i guess maybe he's just a stop gap until Silovs gets more time in the AHL or Martin perhaps regains his confidence? I believe Desmith's contract expires after this season so we aren't anchored by him for long. |
Their plan was to move a player to create cap space and to bring in a back up goalie to help Demko when needed. Silovs needs way more playing time and him sitting on the bench in the NHL isn't the best for his development. Yes it sucks giving up a 3rd in the process but it was needed and it doesn't bother me what so ever. |
Agree that Silovs needs another year of seasoning in the AHL. Hopefully he gets another 40+ starts and then is ready for prime time next year. No point in him riding the bench for Demko as a 22 year old. DeSmith is perfect for the backup role. A tidy piece of work by Allvin & Co. |
Did anyone check the pics on DeSmith's phone ... |

Not to say if justifies anything but I guess people get a second chance it people like Dany Heatley and Craig Mctavish can pretty much commit manslaughter and get a second chance |

I know it's preseason but still ... getting shutout 10-0?! |
From the comments I saw, it was basically the Abby Canucks vs a nearly full Flames roster. Still though, losing 0-10 is pretty appalling lol... |
i'll wait for the season to get under way before getting disappointed. No point starting early. |
Don't be too discouraged. 90% of the players that played tonight aren't NHL quality and I expect most of them to be cut after tonight. |
So no possibility of Jett Woo cracking lineup? What a cool name ... I still remember the moment he got selected. What is his future ... a career Adam or Peewee coach? |
He was looking like he wasn't going to turn out at all, but then he took big steps last year and probably the 2nd best dman after Wolanin in Abby last year! Hopefully he can continue but his chances are pretty slim at this point. |

Another player signing: Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with goaltender Ty Young, who was originally selected by Vancouver in the fifth round, 144th overall at the 2022 NHL Entry draft. “Ty has made some improvements since we drafted him last year and we were pleased to see him play meaningful games in the WHL playoffs,” said Allvin. OEL had 3 assists in his preseason debut with Panthers. Watch people complain about him being bought out now :lol |

Can't be hung over people who play better if change of scene was what triggers it. |
Maybe he’s playing hungry, can’t be easy to be a pro and be so bad a team pays you to fuck off… he seemed to think he had it easy here and it showed in his lazy play. He started with a bunch of assists here too if I remember correctly. |
