FACK...on hold for over an hour then I get some useless agent who says they don't have plans below $25 and they don't have a retentions department and plans that Rogers is advertising in the NEWSPAPER for $15/mo don't exist. Useles.s...uarga so mad! Bloody waste of my morning. |
actually, not easy for them to give you a voicemail... cause there is no such thing as a $8 discount on their hands. only $5, $10, $20 |

well, cause its useless for you to personally "ASK" for the retentions department. maybe this would help you out there my friend... say: "ok, now I am saying the word "CANCEL", would you please transfer me to the right place or what you call "Customer Relations Department". " the rep was correct that there isnt a department called "retention", cause its called "customer relations department", and as well, they have the right to not transfer you to anywhere unless the "MAGIC WORD" of "CANCEL" appears somewhere in the conversation. oh, just a word of reminder, customer relations reps would have to take regular CSR phone calls as well, so the rep that you were speaking to could be a retentions rep. just cause the "magic word" wasnt in the conversation, then the rep would not talk to you in the position of a "customer relations rep" |
Merged your two posts. hahaha actually the "RETENTIONSSSS" thing was a joke between a friend and I. I just wanted to see if it actually worked, but instead the system sent me to "Repairs" instead lol I was going to say that I'm going to cancel, because that rep was really getting on my nerves and heck, I actually did want to cancel for a bit there, but I had to run so no time to play more games with Rogers. Ah well, I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks for the tips! Alphamale: I'll use an extra high-pitched voice and pretend I'm a girl lol |
^You have to sound cute. I don't think you're capable of that, no offense or anything. |
I'm not sure if I should be glad that I can't do that. ... RS Retention-Plan Voice Training Meet, anyone? :haha: |
My plan: 250 daytime unlimited weekends/evenings (6pm) unlimited incoming unlimited text messaging caller ID visual voicemail $25 + 6GB for $30. |
250 daytime unlimited weekend/evening (6) cid vm 2500 txt (smartphone package) r2r 1000 LD Minutes 6gig data $60 couldnt get a discount on the data >.< |
My plan: 275 daytime unlimited weekends/evenings (6pm) unlimited text messaging caller ID + 3 way + call waiting rogers to rogers $20 ____ |
AHAHAH YES. All done now! Got three lines with them after a mere 12 minutes of being on hold. Yay for taking lunch at 2 p.m. and then having sushi in your mouth when they answered all of a sudden! :haha: Moi (split from old Family Plan): 275 weekday min. Unlimited evenings/weekends at 6 p.m. Caller I.D. Call forwarding Call waiting Rogers to Rogers 2,500 outgoing texts $20 I'll be adding the $30 6 GB data plan in-store later, as apparently it muuuust be a locked phone....but the reps at the local store tell me otherwise and they're put the plan on non-Rogers devices. Going to drop them a visit when my E71-2 arrives (out of Customs today!)! Bro (new activation)/Mum (split from old Family Plan): 200 weekday min. Unlimited evenings/weekends at 6 p.m. Caller I.D. Call forwarding Call waiting $17 Something like that. Probably could've been better. Maybe. Best part was when I said that I didn't want to buy a phone for my bro and she's like, OMGWTFBBQ you'll have to buy a $40 SIM then...I couldn't bring myself to say that, a) I'm a phone whore and I've got more phones than most people have people in their nuclear families and, b) I can buy a new sealed Rogerzzz SIM or USIM off of RS for $10. :D I'm a happy camper. :) |
Is that $20 + SAF or with NO SAF? I am still contemplating if I should find a better deal for my: Unlimited Incoming Unlimited Outgoing Call Waiting Call Forwarding $35 + SAF City Fido plan :) |
City Fido is getting less and less appealing as we see more and more retention plans in the $20-25 range that include a good number of daytime minutes and unlimited everything else. |
Ya thats why I am looking to switch. But still, due to the fact I don't even have a landline I use my phone a lot. I don't think I use it enough though to justify it if there are many good plans in the $20 range. Having the $10 credit off (originally it's suppose to be $45) helps. |
SAF not included. Dammn...I forgot to ask the lady to waive the admin and activation fees. Oops. :p |
Looks like it's time I give them a call. |
Yeah, no harm trying. :) |

500 daytime (250 daytime for $5 less) unlimited evenings & weekends @ 6pm my5 value pack: -2500 text -voicemail -etc 6gb data I'm guessing I'm stuck with paying that amount or I can call in to Rogers tell them I am switching from Fido and I'm looking either at Bell/Rogers/Telus for the best plan? |
Seems a tad steep. I'd try calling in and trying to negotiate a good plan before the 6GB, then just add that on top later. |

Yeah, what I meant is within that period. I'm adding it as soon as my E71 gets here lol |
So what did you guys do? Just told them you wanted to cancel your phone? |

We told them we were mods on a site called revscene. Notice that that is the thing we all have in common? |

After: $27 + fees and taxes 250 anytime minutes unlimited after 5pm unlimited evenings and weekends 2500 txt msgs ($10 credit) R2R talking (retention'd after a year and a half) |
