Yes, although your bargaining power is diminished. However, it's more of a matter of luck rather than "bargaining" power. Some CSR's enjoy giving freebies, some don't. You just need to call in every so often to see if you can luck out.

But its only a matter of time before your luck runs out and they audit your account for having too many credits

Alphamale 03-26-2009 05:43 PM

That's why you don't get greedy because you'll end up with less credits that you bargained for. Keep it under or equal to your base phone plan and it should be okay. I'm sitting @...$20 credits or 22, with a base plan of $25. I've had no troubles so far.

JizzMasterZero 03-27-2009 03:47 PM

My plan, had about 6 months left in my 3 year contract:

$50 before SAF and taxes, comes out to be close to $65 a month.

My friend's dad has an iPhone plan with everything like early evenings/weekends, CID/voicemail, etc, including 6GB data for under 50 with SAF/911 and taxes in. Apparently he's been with Rogers since they came out, so his credits are probably stacked to the rim. But I don't know if he got the deal from working at the post office for the past 40 years..:haha:

Not calling you a liar, but it seems like you made that up. Its so unrealistic. If you did get that, then my bad and good for you. :)

ShyGuy 04-02-2009 04:52 PM

Well I haven't gotten my first bill yet but my online profile has my updated plan...too bad it doesn't show the $ amounts for the credits I have.

ShyGuy, what number did you call to get the Retention line? *61 and then say "cancel"?

How did you get them to give you the plan you ended up getting?

Any help would be appreciated.

!MiKrofT 04-02-2009 07:05 PM

It's best not to call them directly and go through the CSR first. But I believe it's *611 and then you say cancel. I always get transferred from a regular CSR as they can tell if you called in or transferred in so they'll react differently. But of course even after this it totally depends on the retention rep you get.

Alphamale 04-02-2009 07:17 PM

^Are you sure they can tell? Where did you hear that from?

I know for fact that they don't give a fuck.

!MiKrofT 04-02-2009 08:17 PM

I don't see how they can't tell.. if it's a transfer the CSR will let the Retention rep know a call is coming vs. a direct call from outside. That's what I read from Howardforums.. they have a long thread discussing retentions. But still a lot is dependant on the rep you get.

Feint* 04-06-2009 12:22 AM

K update to my family plan status... 3rd guy in Customer Relations finally gave me something reasonable.

Been with Rogers since 2001
Been paying $120 for 2 ppl - 600 share mins, unlim/weekend/after6pm-callerID/VM on both - NO DATA and no new phones... pretty rough!

Here's the breakdown of the new retention plan - now separate accounts I figure I have more to leverage w/ next call-in vs family plan

1st Line
$25 Voice
250 + 100 bonus anytime mins
100 Long Distance
Unlim Rogers2Rogers
Call ID/VM/200SMS
SAF+911 $7.45 (darn no waive)
$25 500mb Data Plan

2nd Line
200 Anytime
Unlim 6pm/Weekend
Call ID/VM/200SMS
SAF + 911 $7.45 (darn no waive)
Didn't need data on this one
______________
Some credits here and there for combined $54 + tax
Oh and also BB Bold for $99 waived Activation Fee

Now I have to decide if I want to sell the BB Bold... its still worth about $500 brand new, no? That should be about another $10- off per month in dollar figures, not bad for two lines!

ASG111 04-13-2009 12:32 PM

a really quick question... is customer relations the same department as customer retentions?
if not, what's customer retention's number?
