thanks dude. does it matter if i call them directly or call *611 and cancel? will results change?

SoulCrusher 04-13-2009 01:04 PM

I just call them directly rather than 611. It goes to the exact same place and Im sure the results don't change. Just keep in mind that if the rep you're talking to is being a douche and not giving you what you want, your best to call back another day and talk to someone that will.

ASG111 04-13-2009 02:02 PM

my friend's changing her plan and planning to upgrade to a smart phone. she signed the contract last June for 3 years, and tried to negotiate a new plan and a phone upgrade to the smart phone.

the rep says he understands the plan, but for the phone, she will have to wait till this June for it to upgrade. Is this the policy that they have? To having to use the original phone for MINIMUM ONE year before changing it? I believe she called twice, one to CSR and one to CR and both of them said the same thing...

wonder if any of you know of such policy? thanks

dealt 04-20-2009 10:14 PM

I just called in retentions for the first time and took the offer they gave me even though it wasn't that great. here is what they offered me:

BB Bold for $299, minus $20 from the $35 activation (I know she could have waived it all but I was impatient and took it.)

$20
300 Weekday Mins
Unlimited E/W @8pm-7am
Unlimited Incoming

$35
* 500 MB for e-mail, IM browsing
* Call Display with Name Display
* Enhanced Voicemail
* Unlimited Sent/Received Text Messages
* Unlimited Sent/Received Picture/Video Messages
* WhoCalled

so $20 + $35 + 6.95 + $0.50 - $5 Credit = $64 Tax in.

I wonder if I can call back and renegotiate lol...

Feint* 04-21-2009 09:28 PM

The deal's all right
$299 for a Bold is highway robbery when they're going for $400 on CL 9/10. Yikes

I got 2 for $99 when I renewed. I opted for one iPHone 3G and flipped that already.

!MiKrofT 04-27-2009 03:28 PM

Yeah that 299 bold price is a rip off. I was offered it for $99 as well at the end of last year.

AppleSugary 04-30-2009 06:59 PM

whats the latest retention plan you guys have

I guess you have a family plan or 2 different lines?

hey guys, need some help.

i got a friend that's been with Rogers around 1.5 years ago? signed a contract for 3 years.

she's having like:
200 daytime
unlimited evening and weekends starting at 5pm
rogers to rogers
NO caller id
NO voicemail
Text message is separate (i forgot the stats)
but total is for around $40

she's OK with her current plan but things is she needs Caller Id and Voicemail. The rest of her features she basically uses it up, so not much upgrade needed there. So.... big question is, should she be calling Customer service or Rogers Retention?

Would it be weird if I called for her and just asked if it was possible for a FREE upgrade so she can get Caller ID and Voicemail? What's the best way that I can approach this situation for her?

Thanks for the help

SoulCrusher 05-23-2009 09:51 PM

from what I know, customer care can't give out free stuff so your best bet would be retentions. Don't ask them if you can have it for free. Try telling them that koodoo or bell have offered you plans that include caller ID and voicemail and ask them what they can do for you. Don't settle for just one of the features, push for both. If the rep says no, call again another time and see what the next rep says.

Unless this girl is offering poontang in exchange for your time/effort/knowledge, you can tell the bitch to do her own dirty work.

Thanks man, so basically I'm copying the whole plan (or should I embellish it more) and say Bell is offering these and these things AND a lower price? Just basically bullshitting them with another competitor?

Hope they don't call my bluff haha. Key thing is just she's been with Rogers only for roughly 1.5 years so I don't see her as having much leverage but thanks Pornoman

Kilinim 05-25-2009 05:02 PM

Hmm I just called in and wasn't too happy with what I was offered. The guy offered me 250 daytime, unlimited evenings/weekends at 6, and unlimited incoming for $20. Then he said I should grab a value pack that resembled my own that included call display, enhanced voicemail, and 2500 sent text messages for $10. He wouldn't waive the system access fees ($6.95, $0.50) which I thought was garbage. Can I just call back like 10 minutes later or should I wait a day? Also, if I wanted to get a BB Bold should I do it at the same time?

yameen 05-25-2009 07:03 PM

haven't checked this page in awhile. i was told that the plan i have now is a pretty basic retention plan, and that most people should be able to get it (as in standard retention plan). here's what i have:

350wkday/daytime
unlimited evenings/weekends starting at 6pm
unlimited rogers to rogers
caller id
voicemail
125 sent txts
$20 not including tax and saf, etc

just be nice, compare it to a plan and hope they want to beat it. i'm one of the few who made up a fake plan and they believed me. gluck!

Kilinim 05-25-2009 07:49 PM

I called back and they offered me slightly better.
400 daytime minutes
Unlimited evening/weekends @6
Unlimited incoming
Voicemail, Caller ID with Name Display, 2500 Texts
All of this for $30+SAF+Tax. Fack I want that stupid SAF waived! Or a credit, bastards!

Dr-Vn 05-25-2009 08:11 PM

^ Kilinim, how long you been with Rogers?

TG- what about yourself?

triplexcel 05-26-2009 12:43 AM

so far i'm paying $80 for:

150 Shared Weekday Bonus Min.
Unlimited Incoming Local Calls
175 Pooled Weekday Minutes
1000 weekday overtime mintues
Between Us Calling
Between Us CDN LD
500mb Blackberry Data Value Pack

its a old plan that we took a while back hence that huge amount of calling minutes. damn data plan made everything so more expensive.
