Hi guys ! need your help here: I currently am still using a blackberry but I want to upgrade it to a Samsung galaxy 4 Here is my current situation: -Don't have a contract with Rogers (expired and doing month-month plan) -Want to sign 2 more years with rogers -Want unlimited outgoing and incoming calls, text, caller ID, voice mail, call waiting etc -currently have 5 mb of data and want maybe 2GB of data on my new plan -Current bill is $62 after tax How much of a deal do you guys think I can work out with Rogers ? With my wants and needs, how much should I expect my new plan (2 years) to be? Should I call rententions or should I drop into a store for my new contract? Are stores more firm on negotiating plans v.s rententions? -I think the s4 with a 2 year plan is $199.99 plus tax, do you think I can ask for a lower price through retentions or through a store? |
you might as well give retentions a shot? i have always had pretty good luck if you have patience and try a couple times. |

Don't challenge them e.g. Belus will give me a better price bla bla bla..... (They will defend their product and how superior it is to other network <----- this will start conflict meaning it will turn on reps negative filter) BTW rogers is still superior in any network I got a signal in my work elevator and washroom lol!!! Think/makeup a situation that will encourage them to help you :fullofwin: Win their heart and you will get an awesome deal |

2 months ago someone took over my line and account responsibilities with Robbers. Since the transfer was done before the next billing cycle occurred, I was given a credit of $17.12. Made sense since you usually pre-pay for the service a month ahead. Oddly enough, I received another invoice from Rogers yesterday issuing me a credit for the same amount. Anyone know why this is happening? I'll take the free money any day but this just seems kind of odd.. :suspicious: |
just wait.. they ll rob you right back. |

I've tried the whole "I can get a better deal elsewhere" and that never really got me anywhere. Staying calm and to the point usually got me alot further. |
From what I gather, is that the retention reps seem to have a very different mindset now. Seems like they will allow you to jump ships if that is what you tell them lol |

the phone price will usually remain firm, but do shop around and see if other competitors are offering it for a lower price. if they do, rogers may match it. |
If it helps for your negotiations with retentions, Fido started their Christmas promo of Canada wide calling and texting, call display and VM with 2 gigs of data for $60. |
SCORE - I love Rogers!!!! Guys.... I upgrade 3 lines today to 3 x iPhone 5s 16gb! Early upgrade fee is waive for all 3 as well as the admin fee. Total savings is approx $900 + Then I got to keep my $45 plan Now here's a tip on how to keep your grand father plan :) 1. If you are able to upgrade your data upgrade to max and downgrade 2. If not actually Sups/Manager could do the credit work around e.g. on their system since your plan is $45 or below $60 it will show up $700-1000k or more hardware pricing. What ever the difference they could just credit it. So example... my mom plan is $40. Rogers system shows 900 to upgrade. They will just a add a manual credit so that hardware pricing will reflect 229 :) Hope it helps :) |
^what's included in your $45 plan? $45 before taxes im assuming? |

The HQ customer experience manager that help me set-up my hardware told me that as we are making a work around to save my $45 plan. She ended crediting the lines manually. Actually speaking of plans... did you guys know that rogers have a data plan that could work here and in us ? |

I ask because the Rogers First Rewards program, as stated on the site, will auto-enroll (if you're "eligible", whatever that means) you into the program. Once you're in the program, you lose all your credits ("Best Choices Bundle discounts or other discounts would be forfeited their discounts when the customer chooses to enroll in the Rogers First Rewards program"). If that truly is the case, I can see this causing a lot of headaches, even if you do remove yourself from the program following the auto-enrollment. edit: source The word discount is used quite a bit. I'm unsure if that directly applies to credits. |

Basically if your in BC this doesn't work :) since we dont have Rogers cable, internet or home phone Rogers Better Choice Bundles discount (the “Discount”) is available to existing customers who had subscribed to participate in the Discount program before August 7, 2013, on the terms set out below.
