JKam 10-13-2007 07:23 AM

did it really go up to $180? i thought they have all the info to your account?

wobuffet 10-13-2007 10:22 AM

hahaha yeah, it actually did go up to $180 tho
my usual bill would be only $31.xx after taxes, cuz my bro called my cell so much from alberta
and i also used up so much daytime minutes with my gf
i shoulda asked for some long distance minutes as well lol xD~

i was already on a retention plan when i upgraded yesterday
i had 250 daytime, e/w @ 8pm, free call id for $20/month = $31.xx
so juz for thoz ppl who think they can't get a better plan cuz they're already on a retention plan, it IS possible :)

But each time you get a new retention offer, you extend your contract longer and longer.

eFx[A2C] 10-13-2007 04:27 PM

^ not all the time

It is NOT cumulative, if that's what you mean.

google lol xD~
just search up rogers customer relations

or u can call *611 from ur cell...and just say cancel phone

tomcaca 10-15-2007 08:57 PM

^just say"cancel phone" I will try that.

Seriously though,I felt kinda bad after I saw what you have got.I had a hardware upgrade in Dec 2005 and renewed my contract for 3 years.Up to now I have been with rogers for like 7 years and I have 2 lines with them. Will I be able to get a upgrade again for cheap? Cauz my V3 is just dying on me these days :( Any suggestion on what to tell them in order to get a phone deal? thanx!

wobuffet 10-15-2007 09:13 PM

well, if u've had V3 for over 12months, ur eligeable for a free phone that doesn't exceed over $100 on 3yr contract
ex. K790a = $179.99 on 3yr contract, u juz have to pay $79.99

tell them ur V3 has stopped working, and doesn't even turn on anymore, since the 1yr warranty from rogers should be over already, rogers can't really do anything besides offer u a new phone :)

tomcaca 10-15-2007 09:40 PM

wow,it works that way? I have never heard of that!

I always thought that I could only get the phone for 179.99,no? :o:o:o

Do I have to call them only or I can go into a rogers store to do that? thanx!

wobuffet 10-15-2007 09:46 PM

u gotta call them, they ship u the phone within 3-5 working days and u don't have to pay tax/customs w/e
i'm waiting for my K790a =D which should arrive sometime this week :)

wobuffet 10-15-2007 09:47 PM

oh, and they also charge the remaining $79.99 to ur next phone bill

tomcaca 10-15-2007 09:49 PM

can I get a BB 8800 for 299 based on that formula? if they can,I will call tomorrow :D So,call customer relation, not those CSR ppl?

wobuffet 10-15-2007 10:07 PM

well, if rogers has BB 8800 for $399, then yes, u should be able to get it for $299
yes, customer relations

tomcaca 10-15-2007 10:39 PM

thanx a lot! I will give it a shot this week and if I success, I will post up! :D

sil-300 10-15-2007 10:42 PM

that formula is not always the case, it really just depends on what kind of customer you have been with Rogers and the mood of the customer relations person you are talking to..lol

in any case, blackberry's (and all other ppc phones) work different, cause the BB 8800 is $399 based on 3 yr contract AND $75+ voice/data plan or $40 voice+$40 data plan.

tomcaca 10-15-2007 11:04 PM

399+tax? and 3 more years of contract? that will add up to like almost 11 years in total with rogers.OMFG............ :o:o:o

sil-300 10-16-2007 05:34 PM

whenever you do a hardware upgrade you are locking for at least 2 more years of contract from the date of the upgrade. This is not added onto your existing contract though.

In order to get the best pricing though, you usually need to lock in for 3 years unfortunately.
