Haha, still ticking! Fell into a coma during the intermissions though.
My initial plan was to get 2 mushroom melts from Wendy's and a double down from KFC and alternate each period!

place? price? how does it compare to toshi?

anyone tried Shota sushi and grill? experience?

I would say a tad better than Toshi's. Price a tad higher too. Both are good.

i would have complained, but by the time i got there my buddies already drank half the pitcher although they thought it tasted weird. i didnt wanna mention it after they drank half already. it was the heineken. needless to say we just had one pitcher and bounced. it tasted real bad so we just slammed it cause we were already a bit drunk

RTL for Yaletown dineout and needless to say I will never step foot in there again.

The menu itself sounded promising but the reality was it didn't taste that great at all. Wouldn't even say avg at best.

What was even worse was the service. Made total noobie mistakes such as not refilling water when glasses were clearly empty or almost empty, not asking how you wanted your steak when ordering a steak, not taking plates away after you have finished, were no where to be found which was shocking considering it was fucking dead the night we went with only us and 2 other tables there. The list goes on but it was pretty pathetic.

Their menu is something that left to be desired. I can't even tell if it's Mediterranean Spanish/Italian tapas or casual West Coast cuisine. I understand that it is a "regional" tasting lounge, but come on. There's no focus.

Mega fail.

I'm thin man!
It's a curse when I'm trying to bulk, I have high metabolism.

On another note, had the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard from Dairy Queen tonight.
I'd rate it a 9/10. I love a good chai tea latte and this pumpkin pie blizzard taste just like one w/ a hint of pumpkin and in ice cream style.
Pumpkin pie (w/ crust) blended w/ DQ soft serve topped w/ whipped cream and finished with a sprinkle of nutmeg, yum yum. Holiday season here we come!

Bistro The Home

Went for the 2 for 1 pasta deal + sweet potato pizza. It was decent - I don't think I'd pay regular price ($20) for the pasta but it was half off so it was good. The atmosphere was kinda crummy; there was only one other table there and it felt a bit chilly inside.

7/10

unit 10-27-2010 11:25 PM

My favorite place in the world for cheap takeout sushi would have to be Pink Swirl in Richmond (formerly Sushi World). Tried, tested, and true. I've probably been here over 10 times.

Sashimi pieces aren't as big as they used to be (used to take multiple bites) but they are still the hugest I've come across. I usually get mango tokyo roll (with crepe used instead of seaweed for wrapper) and sunrise roll.

I drive all the way from Metro town area to Richmond just for takeout when I have my cravings. :)
Party tray 12 is good.

Very good/10

correct me if i'm wrong

when I think of fresh tuna, it's usually the picture below and not the pictures above. I've tasted the differences and the pics below are way better. just my 2 cents.

Chop: I went to Chop again, (been there many times) and they definitely cahnged their Tuna app. they are using tuna like pics above and the experience is so much better. they used to have cheap tuna and it was bad.

Lemongrass house

Pho and viet sandwiches are pretty good

Solid 8/10.

P.S. Go for the grill chicken sub.

hirevtuner 10-30-2010 02:43 PM

Went to Monk McQueens I had a coupon for it

Ordered half dozen oysters = excellent and fresh
fried calamari = loved the breading but too salty at the end
seafood platter = worst overall, avoid at all costs, salmon and halibut was burnt and veggies weren't fresh so it wasn't filling at it was $29 for it, felt ripped off

7.5/10 kinda pay for the view

dyan 10-30-2010 03:25 PM

Kintaro

8/10

Ordered the cheese ramen.. A tad too salty for my taste. But overall it was pretty good.
