+1.

I am amazed at the way this team has come out this season.

Ronin 10-02-2008 12:43 AM

6-1 over the Lames...undefeated in the pre-season.

Do we go down Robson or Granville?

Didn't they change the format to 82 games/season like a decade ago?

Enjoy while it lasts. I refuse to jump on the wagon.
Once regular season comes and Canucks hit a slump, everyone's gonna be pointing fingers at Gillis again and the Canucks bashing begins again.

goo3 10-02-2008 01:33 AM

how did demitra look?

A hockey fan would never boo Iggy.. The guys a model hockey player. Even if I dislike Cgy,
I'd never hate on Iginla... maybe phaneuf, but not iggy.

Harvey Specter 10-02-2008 04:32 AM

Jerome almost got into a fight but someone held him back. And I found the crowd very quite and pretty dead. I guess because it was a preseason game.

Adding shootouts is the best thing ever. Every time the game is tied with about 3 minutes left, I already begin to get excited about shootout. Everytime there's overtime, I hope no one scores in the OT.

Best thing about watching old shootouts is that I don't remember some of them, and when you don't remember who wins, its like watching it live again.

+1. Iggy is all class. What he did for Linden's last game just confirmed that. I have the upmost respect for that guy.

I guess it's normal to give the opposing fans some grief. (I've been subjected to it many times wearing my Canucks jersey in Colorado when I lived there) but I've never had stuff thrown at me. (I heard about someone getting beer poured on them for wearing a Bertuzzi jersey after the incident with Moore). However, it makes Vancouver fans look bad when you're chanting derogatory remarks on a game that's televised nationwide.

Soundy 10-02-2008 07:33 AM

^Better than being a Lions player in Regina and having full beer cans thrown at you!

Man, I see so many Stanley Cup related posts but I feel wierd with all these wins. Though I don't want to take away anything from the boys, the win and undefeated streak feels half assed especially last night. We won because our young boys played full-tilt while almost all of the vets they're facing are playing half assed. Possibly as it's only pre-season and they're just being cautious.

I never got a chance to see that last game. Is there any videos of Linden's last game near the end?

I don't think it's normal to give opposing fans grief. That's a flaw in society and the cause of many unncessary fights in a hockey game. You're supposed to be enjoying the game, not getting trashed talked or giving trash talk to other people just because they are cheering for another team. But trash talking happens, but then throwing stuff and getting physical is definately going too far. If you want to make fun of a player on the ice, start a chant. You don't go there to start a fight with the audience. There really are people that just want to go and enjoy the game live. But when I hear all these stories, I rather just stay at home or go to a buddy's house and watch it on his big HD TV. At least then, I can go on RevScene during intermissions to post comments about the game. lol

Stop going on CDC. :)
I don't recall any Stanley Cup related posts in here.
And yes, I do suspect the veterans will be playing half-assed. They don't want to risk injury. Sometimes you can't help it and the game gets intense and it draws them in. But the bottom line is that it's unncessary to try so hard right now. That is unless you're a young player that wants to capitalize on this perfect oppurtunity to practice against other teams or if you're a rookie trying to secure a spot on the team. But then again, there are just some players that give it their all regardless, because that's just their natural work ethic.

Hence why, just because Canucks are 5-0 in preseason, doesn't mean squat. And I still don't believe they are a better team from the previous seasons until I see this happening in regular season.

I was at the game last night as well. The kipper did not look good at all. I love the Kesler Burrows line. The team as a whole did OK. I'm pumped about this season.

So that was you next to the guy who got escorted out? I was in row 15.

I was referring to the "plan the robson parade" remarks. I thought it was a joke at first when it was just 1 or 2 guys posting. But now more and more people are posting it, I'm not quite too sure to make out of it.

411ken 10-02-2008 10:50 AM

It's nice to joke around with the opposing team's fan but throwing stuff at them is just plain stupid. Does that make them look cool or something?

Vansterdam 10-02-2008 11:06 AM

i seen beer cups and such get thrown severala times before lol

When I lived in Regina we used to have season tickets on the 55 yard line, 2nd row right near the visitors bench. The fans are ruthless there is no doubt about it but whats even funnier is to see how it riled up some of the players and how personal they take taunts. I've seen players want to fight fans after the game telling them they'll be waiting near the bus among other things. Throwing the cans was totally bunk though.
