Mike Gillis doesn't deserve any credit for Bernier. The Canucks originally signed David Backes (St. Louis) to an offer sheet who is a winger with a right handed shot. St. Louis ended up matching the offer and the Canucks had to look elsewhere.

The Buffalo Sabres saw this offer and they were concerned the Canucks would go after Jason Pominville (another right handed winger) with an offer sheet. Buffalo calls up Vancouver (They did not have any interest in Bernier until this point.) Buffalo offers to trade Bernier with an unwritten clause that Vancouver will not make an attempt to get Pominville.

The most you can say is Mike Gillis indirectly went out and got Bernier.

BURNABY (NEWS1130) - It's not your typical 'yard sale' type find. Burnaby RCMP have recovered a couple of items they believe have been stolen, and now they're looking for the rightful owner.

The items were recovered as part of an ongoing investigation in June, but RCMP say attempts to find the rightful owner or owners have been unsuccessful. The first item (above right) is an oil painting depicting a canal and buildings in Italy, possibly Venice. The painting is in a cherry wood frame.

The other recovered item (picture below) is a mounted Todd Bertuzzi jersey, which is signed and comes with a serial number. If you know who might be the owner, you can call Burnaby RCMP at 604-294-7646.

I watched a bit of the Dallas game, which they lost 6-1 vs the Blues, and Brunnstrom didn't look that good. I think he was a -3 in the game.
