..but at the same time, if he was serious about his career, he would have shown up at training camp in better shape. Unlike Burrows, who gave up his ball playing and leisure time to get in shape for this season. I'm surprised the Canucks organization gave him the second chance to get his shit in order. For them to put him on waivers now means they were not impressed by his dedication. Playing on a line and finding some magic may be good, but what happens when things get tough? He'd be the first one to call it quits. He has potential, but I think the work ethic is not there, and when your team is trying to focus on energy and excitement, he doesn't fit in. Just my opinion........

buffalo gets hd but we dont WTF?

the_rickster 10-17-2008 02:09 PM

forget about call ups and waivers... does anyone think that this might be the early stages of something bigger? teams dont usually put players through waivers unless they're really going to benefit from it.

murd0c 10-17-2008 02:16 PM

I hope pyatt and a 1st rd pick is on the move for gaborick

the_rickster 10-17-2008 02:20 PM

why would they waive wellwood and trade pyatt? doesnt make sense.

murd0c 10-17-2008 02:23 PM

I'm just sayin. They just had to send him down do to the 2 many players.

Unlikely cause they probably don't want to lose him to Waivers.

I think another poster already mentioned its to cut down the roster size. Right now we have 24 players with Nicolayt back from IR, so we had to send someone down to make the 23 limit.

Noir 10-17-2008 03:33 PM

Fuck. Its not on Justin tv

Soundy 10-17-2008 03:39 PM

Off to a decent start the first minute or so, couple good chances, lots of pressure... AH FUCK, puck over the glass...

Noir 10-17-2008 03:42 PM

What a stupid penalty by Mitchell. How the fuck do you miss a 10 foot wall to bank the puck for a clear? Considering the amount of time he had to clear too.

CRX SiR 10-17-2008 03:48 PM

Go Canucks Go! I wanna watch this game, but im stuck listening to it while watching the battle of Alberta. :(

CRS 10-17-2008 03:50 PM

They already risked Krog on waivers when they sent him down, nobody claimed him.

There's Pyatt taking another dumb penalty against Buffalo, then coming out of the box fully rested and skating half-assedly in on a 2-on-1 with Daniel Sedin and taking some limpass shot 5 feet wide of the net. I'm sure Wellwood would have been much slower and lazier in the same situation.

Easy: like Tommy said, puck was up on edge, when you hit it that way, it's gonna go vertical.

I disagree with Tom. Mitchell had time to cradle the puck back and forth before releasing that shot to clear. Why not aim mid-level on the boards rather than the high end of the glass. Or is he really that bad of a shot? Which I seriously think is true on so many levels.

Harvey Specter 10-17-2008 04:15 PM

Bloody awful.

CRX SiR 10-17-2008 04:16 PM

That was a rough period of play... :(

AzNightmare 10-17-2008 04:27 PM

Wow, just came home, turn on the TV. and this is the garbage I see?
The only good thing I can see is that I found out Sanford started, and Luongo wasn't yanked.

Without high def to confirm, I have to rely on what someone on-site says they saw, and Tom's diagnosis was that the puck went up on edge the instant before Willie shot it. If he had his stick on the ice, angled a little bit to lift the puck up and off the boards, then the puck flipping up on edge would naturally get a much steeper angle by having the stick slice under the curve of it, just like a golf wedge.

Since Tommy's explanation makes perfect sense, and he's in a better position to have a clear view than you are, I choose to accept his call and tell you you're full of shit.

I guess its true anything is possible. But its more tempting on re-called waivers cause we be on the hook for half the salary.

Gh0stRider 10-17-2008 04:39 PM

Go sabres go!!!
Racking some points on my pool.

Ronin 10-17-2008 04:40 PM
