fuck since 1992 lidstrom is +328 or somthing, crazy

bossxx 10-16-2008 09:08 PM

Legace is gonna have another stellar year in St. Louis! So far that pick for me has been paying off as my 2nd goalie.

That +/- has got to be a record.

rb 10-16-2008 09:09 PM

even Jeff Cowan can show some offensive flash for a game or two... everyone just relax

bossxx 10-16-2008 09:13 PM

haha I agree. Jason king ftw

Burrows has always had to prove to others he is good enough to be in the NHL. Since day one, there was something special about him. He works hard for everything. This year, with offense being more a priority, he's really getting the chance to show what he's capable of doing. Frankly, I think he's surprising himself along the way. Did you see the celebration after the goal? He's lighting up the team. I hope he keeps getting rewarded for his hard work.

LOL at the people over at TSN. Burrows is a monster!

jigga250 10-16-2008 09:36 PM

so why was this nycholat dude playing? I would have thought Davison and even Bum-gardener would have been above him in the depth chart?

MG1 10-16-2008 09:37 PM

I hope Sanford plays tomorrow and does well.

As for Luongo, I'm glad the third period was better for him tonight. He looked pretty average the first two.

for one thing, he's faster than Davison
having two slow guys like Davison and Obrien could be problematic

and supposedly he's got some offensive upside

Gh0stRider 10-16-2008 09:49 PM

thats why Lids is one of my favorite players.

i said the same thing to my dad. lu didn't look too good tonight. i wished they played sanford in washington -- 2 division games for lu, then 1 away game for sanford. would've made sense to me.

wahyinghung 10-16-2008 09:55 PM

Harvey Specter 10-16-2008 10:03 PM

Sunday is PPV.

Harvey Specter 10-16-2008 10:06 PM

Fuk, I can't edit because this site is lagging big time. Anyways, did anyone catch Ohlund skating around with his towel around his arm in the 2nd period?

hi5-ive 10-16-2008 10:07 PM

lol, that's true, but the difference is Burrows is a lot better, and he plays the fullest on every shift. Only good things will bound to happen if he keeps playing like that. Infact, I think his OT goal was a bit of a fluke. Most goalies should of saved a shot from that kind of angle. But his hard work is always rewarded, and good for him just going in like that and not giving up on the play.

yeah, lately, Luongo's been just playing like a good goaltender, but not the superstar he is supposed to be. But he's been known to start seasons slow, at least that's what articles said.

BTW, I thought Pylon was injured? Did he play today? I missed the game today.

i think it was the first.. im not sure but it was funny as hell.. he didnt even notice it at first and then he hucked it at the side of luongo's net.. then when the camera went back the towel was gone.. lu must've dry cleaned it

Yep......... almost as funny as a woman coming out of the washroom with toilet paper trailing behind her.

Razor Ramon HG 10-16-2008 10:57 PM

I hope the Canucks aren't tired for tomorrow's game.

Harvey Specter 10-16-2008 11:03 PM

I doubt it. They only spent 35 minutes on the plane, landed just before 12:30am so enough time to rest for tonights game.

why would they play Luongo in back to back games when they had 2 full days between the washington and detroit games?

AzNightmare 10-16-2008 11:44 PM

Bah, it doesn't matter. Watch Luongo play all of them. Usually there isn't much strategical thought into which goaltender plays on the Canucks team. It's only when Luongo plays too much and AV decides he's burnt out, does Sanford play. (or a really bad game like on Monday).

But if it were Luongo's way, he would probably want to play all 82 and not admit he's ever tired. Because that's how he is. lol

Harvey Specter 10-16-2008 11:56 PM

Tonights game should be interesting to watch. I haven't watched the Sabres play this season but they're 3-0 and they beat the Rangers so they'll be tough to beat.

Great post. Burrows has always played with his heart on his sleeve. Probably the only reason why he's gotten this far. While he may lack the innate talent, his work ethic puts him into another category. The entire line (and perhaps the team) feeds off his energy. I love it when the Hansen, Kesler, Burrows line is just flying around the ice.

Vanek's a monster this year. Kid really has learned how to play on both ends of the rink.

Biggest mistake by the NHL for bringing in a bunch of senior turds to open the season up....

Chelios: Def Leppard disgraced the Stanley Cup on purpose

Thu Oct 16, 2008 9:39 am EDT
By Greg Wyshynski

Last week, Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott wasn't gettin' it (uh, really getting' it) when he dishonored the Stanley Cup by placing it upside down on a pedestal during the NHL's opening night concert in Detroit. The embarrassing moment was beamed live to a rather impressive audience on Versus, and became front page news here at Yahoo! as over 2,700 comments mocked, ripped and reviled the singer's goof.

After a band meeting (Murray would be proud), Elliott and Def Lep attempting to pour some sugar on this putrid situation:

"I will, as always, take full responsibility for what happened because I have big pucks. However, someone at the NHL should have known better and informed me first instead of keeping the Stanley Cup under lock and key until the last minute. The practice run the day before with a coffeemaker went swimmingly because it, like every other sporting cup I've ever seen, was wider at the top than the base. Ironic isn't it that after that night's gig, a NHL insider told me that long ago the Stanley Cup was also designed to be put down that way!!!"

Well, Chris Chelios of the Detroit Red Wings isn't buyin' it. Really not buyin' it. The outspoken and ageless defenseman appeared with JJ & Lynne on WCSX-FM (94.7), and said someone should have "drove that guy, he did that on purpose." The Freep reported on his conspiracy theory that's one Chupacabra away from Fox Mulder territory:

"No, we know he did [it on purpose]... we talked to people at the show and the guy was being real rude to everybody," Chelios said. "He was in a bad mood when they got there, so for whatever reason he didn't want to be there. And that's his way of showing it and taking it out on the NHL."

Fact is that Chelios didn't feel the Face-Off Rocks concert was necessary to begin with. And as long as we're trafficking in conspiracy theories, perhaps Cheli is just bitter that his good buddy Kid Rock didn't get the gig in Detroit so he can mash-up a few more Warren Zevon and Lynyrd Skynyrd classics with inferior results.

Which brings us to this salient point -- What's worse: A British rock star, with only coffeemaker experience, placing the Stanley Cup upside down; or forgetting the Stanley Cup on a beach and having models use it as an ashtray? Allegedly, of course ...
