Well the real question the Rangers gotta ask themselves is "Is Sundin that big of an improvement or an improvement at all over Naslund? Naslund is their leading goal scorer. |

Maybe he is Chan Ho Nam's long lost brother? |

They pretty much would have to move one of the Dmen, Drury or Gomez to make it happen. I still think there the favorites though. |
none of this will probably be a suprise.. BUT.. I talked to a very credible source/business associate who deals with Aqualini on a very regular basis tonight, they had lunch late last week and my source joked with Aquaman regarding Sundins decision, Aquaman said from the beggining Sundins #1 choice has been Rangers the whole way and he has been actively talking with them and waiting for them to make a move so he can join them Take it for what its worth, but the source is no BS, and its not really like anything new was said |

But I am sure it is also a little disappointing to him that the Rangers didn't have an offer ready when they met last week. |

if its about winning..why didn't he join the redwings when he had the chance? he wanted some time off...just like niedemeyer and selanne...he has every right because he's a ufa... rangers or canucks, we'd still end up winning because if ever the rangers get rid of someone, we'll take 'em (drury or gomez) |
id never want Gomez on this team. pay a guy 7+ mil for a guy thats only scored more than 20 goals once in his career? he barely puts up sedin type #'s. im hoping rangers sign Sundin the rangers trade Gomez to the Wild, and the Wild Trade Gaborik to the Canucks for a prospect or something...... i can dream cant i? but hopefully a 3 way deal involving the canucks can be swung. |
Only New York has so much money to throw around, no one's gonna want Gomez for $7 mil unless they are absolutely desperate. Then again, maybe the Wild is desperate since they aren't doing so well right now. |

^ I think Robin Bawa did something similar in the 90's during his short playing days as a Canuck and NHL'er. |
Think of how shitty that would reflect on the rangers organization. Sign naslund to a 4m contract in the off season and trade him to make room for sundin? won't happen imo. |
I guess I'm the only one who's not excited about the possibility of Sundin coming here. |
Ppl are saying that Sundin will sign with us then we'll trade him to the rangers for gomez or drury lol.. I hope this gets done and over with ASAP! it's only been 7 months or so |
^Yeah, needs more DRAMA! |
If sundin signs with any team, I'm sure he'll be saying "I'm not ready to play with the team yet" or "I need more practice" bs and that will last another couple weeks or so. Forsberg last year, sundin this year, Gaborik next? and kovalchuk the next after? lol. |
^wrong you need to read the articles better. He has been training in LA for a couple weeks now and is continueing to skate in sweden. He ll be joining the team that he signs with on the 28 |

lol no way would I want to trade with the Rangers unless Zherdev is coming back (and Sathers won't be dumb enough to do this). It doesn't make sense to take on any overpaid long-term contracts (Drury, Gomez, Redden, Rosizval). |
we're the only team with cap to take players from the rangers and theres no way in hell we're gonna take their players so they can get sundin |
