Rangers have no problem clearing cap space. They can waive, send players to the minors or look for a trade. It's just up to Glen Sather to decide if its worth it.

If Sundin's #1 choice is the Rangers, do we really want him here? I question the level of committment and enthusiasm he could offer if Vancouver was never really his choice, just the last man standing.

you can waive, but no way you can waive your big name players. and even then, they don't want to lose too many players for nothing

trading is possible, but you gotta find a team that wants to take over those big salaries, which is hard since not a lot of teams don't want to take them on

sending to the minors could work, but you have to bring up players to, so you're not gaining much cap for each player you send down, not to mention taking away a good player already on your team

Sending to the minors will not work unless they have the players signed for a 2 way contract and I'm sure the big names all have 1 way contracts..

I'm sure sundin does like NY because he has a better chance of making it to the stanley cup finals with them. it jus all depend on how NY will make his $$ fit in...
